^ Uh...____ no. This movie had a ton of heart. If you didnt think so, you have no soul whatsoever. And hate good movies.

This movie rocked! Very nostalgic feeling. Felt like I was watching ET again, Stand By Me, Goonies etc lol Childhood faves.
The tension mounted well and kept me interested!
Waaay better than Green Lantern for me. :hi5:

Overall pretty damn good film, but a couple problems I had:

Spoiler Warning

-For a movie about a group of friends, there were essentially only 3 that had any personality, and a fourth that was memorable enough to be worthy of existance. And to do that they had to practically shove it in your face in every damn scene how the fireworks kid was a pyro just to make you remember he exists. The other two guys might as well not have been there.

-I just didn't buy the whole heartwarming ending. Somehow I didn't feel so happy for ET getting his chance to go home considering he spent the past 20 minutes murdering innocent people and eating them. I actually kind of wish the Air Force had killed him.

i didn't like it. the film is simply a pale reflection of its influences minus any heart and soul.

exactly. it tries so hard to be a mix of goonies and ET but just fails on every level. i cared about the kids in goonies and i cared about ET, but i felt no emotional attachment or bond with super 8's kids or alien. i didn't care about any of the characters or what happened to them. it's just a wannabe spielberg movie.

Finally saw this today... Awesome movie.

Way better than Pirates 4, not as good as X: First Class imo.

Loved the alien design, ship idea, etc...

I surprisingly cared for the kids. There were some very suspenseful scenes although you already knew how they would turn out..
For example..
The train crash, Alien attacking bus, etc..
