Comic Con is upon us and I know when they release their new products, everyone will forget their QC problems:) The new threads will be opened and collectors will share their desires and excitement with each other. It is for sure their protos will look visually attractive and just because of our love to these characters, our brains tell us we have to own them in any way! Till we see the actual product comes very different from the proto, we will not be sorry to purchase it at very high prices! It is like a MATRIX movie:)

Its always the same for the majority of us Magnum...we may hate sideshow for all of say 10 minutes, then they release a new KILLER statue and all is forgotten :lol

I am not hating from them my friend, just someone thinks I am:) I am just seeking my right to have a final product which is produced nearly as the proto!

We can only wish...at the same time, they do get it right on some occasions :exactly: Their Superman PF is truly one of the best PF's I have ever seen to date :love

Got MJ for a great price at Zavvi (thanks Col) Getting Gwen soon. It's a shame he doesn't look like the proto but he also doesn't look like **** imho. If the paint isn't sloppy on mine i'll be happy with him. I'd have been even more happy if it looked like the proto though.

Oh yea, no denying that the actual sculpt is cool. My beef lies purely with the paint apps. Sideshow promise one thing and deliver another, and what makes it worse is that its clearly part of a trio set which makes Spidey stick out like a sore thumb as being the odd one out :(

Agreed, I'd be pissed as the center piece of the set got the shaft. He looks tiny too.

If the had released this Com and the proto had looked exactly like the production pieces, glossy paint and cut webbing lines, I would have said this is a successful release. in fact, if not for the sloppy line examples I posted, the pictures don't look to bad at all. However, the proto was so damn different and sharp that it made this one of the hottest selling pieces I have seen, and it was all a case of false advertising.

I wonder if Sideshow explains the reasons of the difference between the proto and the final product, wouldn't be cool? Besides they're changing the photos of the actual product comes out when it is different! So what did go wrong, tell us, maybe we find your case right and not to blame! Sideshow company isn't small anymore so these actions have to explained to their customers. People who are smoking can sue the cigarette companies when they get cancer once just they don't write smoking cause cancer on their boxes! Some people here think I am a natural hater of Sideshow but in fact I have so many statues from them in my collection. I am ready to pay higher prices if they produce their products in America cause their factory in China can't make it something right anymore! Their QC doesn't give good results...

They won't comment, and what gets me is all they had t do was send out pictures, say two months ago, of what a production piece really would look like, and I don't think anyone would have been as angry. As it is this is the most drastic change I have seen.

on the top of my head I can think of a certain few pieces that Sideshow have really screwed up on and also knew the fact that they screwed up by altering the images on their order page...they are:

Batman PF - initially released proto pics aswell as the pics on their order page of the Batman showing embossed Bat logo emblem on the chest and fitted suit around the arm pits. What we received were no embossed logo and instead a flat print on bat logo plus the armpits of the suit were literally by his ankles :slap After so many complaints, Sideshow removed their pics on their order page and replaced them with new ones showing sagging arm pits :horror

Iron man MKVI Legendary Scale Bust - initially released pics of the Arc Reactor placed the correct way round. What we received was the Arc Reactor the wrong way round :slap Again, after so many complaints, Sideshow removed their original pics from their order page and incredibly, they replaced them with new ones showing the Arc reactor upside down and claiming that it was always meant to be that way!!! :lol :lol :lol :lol Brilliant!!!!

Then there are other releases such as the Apoc PF and now this one :( what gives Sideshow :dunno

I personally don't think Batman compares to this one m8. The pits can be fixed, come to think about it so can the arc reactor, and both with not a lot of trouble. To get one of these to look like the proto would be a MASSIVE custom job.

Of course it does Shawn...(keep calm Andy, keep calm!) :lol :lol

I don't think your getting the point, regardless of whether the pits on the Batman PF or the Arc Reactor of the Iron man bust can be fixed easily or not, after spending, in relative terms, a lot of money on these high end collectibles, we shouldn't be expected to have to fix these statues period :lecture Not only that, but to rub salt into the wounds, Sideshow are then identifying that there is an issue and then covering it up by reposting new pics of the flaws and then claiming that's how it should look despite all of us ordering the piece from what we saw in the original proto pics that they had on the order page when we pre ordered it :slap Do you get what im saying buddy :)

Then my last word could be " What does make a company or a man be successful?"
a-) Continuity and stability
b-) Unstable success

I like to look at things in another way my friend...I like to compare Sideshow to the fast food restaurant McDonalds. Why? Well, neither is very good for you. Sideshow for your wallet and McDonalds for your health. But both have that certain addictiveness which keeps you coming back for more and gives you that nice feeling in your tummy...but If I was to have to give up either of these lifestyles then I certainly wouldn't be saying....'I'm Loving it!' :(

Andy, it is not the problem if it can be fixed or not! The problem is why do I have to need fixing a product?

I do get the point m8; I just think that his one is actually worse then those examples. 1) I doubt anyone at SSC thought PitGate was going to be a thing, and when they realized it they changed the pics to address the issue, 2) the Arc reactor was a major ****UP, no doubt about it, but I am still convinced that one of the Recasters that worked in the SSC factory switched the assembly instructions so that the recasts would be the more accurate statue...LOL. Now that they changed the pics they more closely resemble what people are getting. In both cases I actually think SSC in good faith tried to bring the proto finish to people's homes. I don't get that feeling here. I really don't. I can't see how they ever thought they would get the level of line work they had in the proto, and if they knew they couldn't do it they shouldn't have advertised it.

P.s. we shouldn't have to fix these issues you are right. I just think this is a bigger issue because it is almost impossible to fix for the average person.

:lecture Covertly switching out the original proto photo with the ****ed up production piece later on without editing the description to the fact is deplorable. I don't know who makes that decision in the SSC ranks but it's despicable, and the customers ALWAYS pick up on it, so it's doubly embarrassing for the company. Just cut the bait-n-switch crap and be honest with your customer base.

Add the P2 LSB to the picture switch list.

Jay! You bastard! Why's mine still showing as in Memphis?
It's been there since Friday!!! :gah:

No idea mate. Might be just a tracking problem? Might come today. Mine really is on the van for delivery, i'm not just messing with you. I hope he's fine but with my luck he'll be broken. :lol

The problem is that at least half the people who are getting this who are teed off about the situation won't return it. If we all sent back 2000 statues SS would think twice about sending out an unsatisfactory product. I WILL be contacting customer service if I don't like what I see in hand. Question though, if I used reward points on this will I get them back? I feel like somebody just punched me in the gut. I think I was looking forward to this piece above all I had on PO.

Also, SS Alex advised there was no special process in the paint application. I suspect just different paint. I'm also wondering if the sculpt is different too with all the web grooves in the sculpt. Can anyone who has seen this in person confirm there were no grooves?

If you look at the specs for MJ they mention the new paint technique, and I remember SSC discussing that it was suppose to be part of the line. I am sorry you are faced with this m8. Given how MJ and Gwen looked this should have been a slam dunk.

Pictures clearly show no grooves at SDCC last year.

I thought so.

Yeah the grooves weren't there and the lines are much thicker because of it.
