Not enough cartoony ones imo.

These are how they look in comics alot of the time.

Fun, not realistic

I'm generally not a big fan of Ramos' style.

Me either. While I enjoyed the Spider Island story arc, the artwork left a lot to be desired. Esad Ribic is my current favorite of the titles I follow, and his work really does embarrass the style of those above.

Agreed...I have a quite a few current artists that I am a big fan of...Ramos and JRJr are NOT on that list.

Not that I'm against the cartoony look, it just has to suit the book...I am big fan of Rob Guillory's work on Chew, for example.

I guess I hate changing times but I hate how most of these characters are drawn these days. Or maybe how there computer animated these days. or however the hell they make them. I dont just mean spiderman. They all look like complete crap. Look at how they were drawn from 1950 to to around 1999. Now look at this imitation anime looking garbage they shovel out now. I guess im old school but those images that some guy posted 3 pages back make me gag. I duno how they got approved. But i guess theres a market for everything.:gah::mad:

:exactly::goodpost:

Absolutely. In my opinion, we should have a "John Romita Collection" before we get a J. Scott Campbell Collection. There's a reason Alex Ross bases his Spidey on Romita's, and it's because it is the best, definitive version. Each decade past 2K, the art that is deemed acceptable or popular takes a nosedive further and further.

Also, Romita knew how to draw absolutely beautiful females who not only had visual personality, but accurate anatomical proportions as well.

I guess I am a curmudgeonly 40 year old.:cuckoo:

Really waiting for more pics to see if Spidey is worth the pick up. May not sadly even if I'm a huge Spider-Man fan. So far looks alright and hate to see what the price will be. Gwen at least looks awesome. Spidey is a huge debate.

I think this looks pretty cool. It's different as well.

I know this will disappoint some people on here because its different though. My only gripe right now is the scale & I'm not to sure about that square knee but I need to see it properly.

If you don't like this though your basically got two choices which is wait for SS to make another PF, surly there going to make one this time for the new movie :pray: or save up for either the PF or the 1/4 CQ which I did a few months back & would definitely recommend as it :rock

Original comiquette is still King.... This will be a pass for me... Need me some Giant McFarlane eyes :)

:exactly: McFarlane eyes are the best but I am liking this but the CQ is still the king of the Spider-Man statues as far as I'm concerned

This is different and not classic like the orig com. This may be great in its own right since they seem to be two different artistic approaches.

That's what I've been trying to say & I think SS needed to make it different as well
