Spider on the back is larger on the new one, and he looks a bit more wiry. Fingers on both look long. I like the satin look of the new one. My hope is that this comes out late this year, that way I can use some points and pay tax and freight only.

Honestly, I love the paint effect on the new one. The matte satin finish on it looks amazing. If I could just get past the side view on this. It looks great from the front view.

Seriously Spidey, Thanks for all the Info and the repost of photos..

Wish you could love this one like me!! I can't wait for this one!!

You are welcome m8. I have loved bringing something to the board lately... At least more then crazy newb questions. As for this piece I WISH I could love it that way too... I really do. Hopefully when this goes up for PO I will see something that changes my mind.

Nah, you'll always love the original and wont stop till you get it. Stop kidding yourself Spidey.:nana:

Only thing is its not my prefered scale. Other than that its golden In my book.

Am I the only one who thinks his patella/kneecap looks funny?

They are very square. It's based off of Campbell's artistic style. He tends to draw his characters that way. It obviously showed up in this sculpt since it is based off his work. I do agree with you though, I do think it looks a little off. However, I still think the piece looks pretty nice overall.

Squared off knee cap is almost no different than the rounded face of the original. No one's face is that round. Chalk it up to artistic interpretation. Does the original comiquette have shading like the new one?

The orig 1/4 Comq is not as dramatically shaded.

I love that it has no nose. If I were to get the new Comq I would love that it has a square knee and long fingers. Just little touches that individualize all the artist and convey that comic book feel. All good IMO. I just happen to love Olivetti's style and Canale' interpretation.

Don't think it looks funny. Looks like he draws em.

:exactly: this is all JSC in this one. JSC draws spidey just how I like him. Not saying he isn't done great by other artists but I prefer JSC take on him.

I love everything about it. He's wiry and nerdy and the long fingers look so cool.

The shading is done perfect and the base looks great I love the spidey on the wall.

Im glad I didn't go after the com now. I prefer this one........ LET ME PO THIS NOW! :blissy

Thank you.

I like the stance on the original a lil better and it seems more powerful.
The new one has a younger feel to it, in part I think with the graphitti on the wall. I do like it a lot and will order it so I can stop berating myself missing the first one.

Says who? Do you own it? There is plenty of shading in the original Com. The main difference between the 2 Coms seems to be the shade of blue in the costumes. The JSC Com looks like it has a slightly darker blue to it. My Olivetti Com certainly is shaded well in all of the cuts of his muscles and crevices in my statue.

Look (and I'm not singling you out here), there is no need to try and find issues with the original Com if you are going to buy the new one. For most peeps the old Com is financially out of reach so the new one is going to be the one they pick up. The same goes for all the peeps that own the original Com but are trying to find faults with the JSC Com. They are both nice pieces. Peeps should add whichever one they like most (and can afford) to their collections.

Again skillet, this post is not aimed at you. I'm just seeing a trend where peeps just seem to be nitpicking on both Coms for no real reason.

Yes, I do own the orignal 1/4 comq. I don't see how what I said is a knock on either versions. In fact the very next post I said I would love the new one also. Like I said, they represent different styles.
