Awesome Gammy! Love how you used the dark colors to pick out his eyes and mouth... gives it a really nice definition :rock

I actually popped mine appart when I painted him... the body was kind of loose, so it I was able to kill two birds with one stone. Also seemed easier to paint one part at a time. It is really surprising how nice he can look with a bit of work.

Honestly I think mine was a bit damaged... but it made for an easy job painting. I think if you wanted to take him apart it would require a bit of work scoring the plastic... and could probably break something if you weren't careful.

I'm just still amazed every time I see a repaint of how nice the underlying sculpt is... Hasbro really was capable of some great work.

Yeah, in most cases the Hasbro 12" figures are well sculpted, but they are held back by their bodies and paint jobs, and to some extent the outfits. (Although in this case it's almost entirely the paint.) Still, you have to give them some credit for delivering stuff like this for such low prices. I think the Gamorrean Guard was originally $30, and of course most of their figures were closer to $20.

Nice paint work, I never really understood the Hasbro paint job, their 4" figure looked right in terms of colors, and there was never a Gamorrean with the Rocky racoon look like they gave the figure, and that's what it looks like, it never just added shadow effect or anything, it looks like painted bags.

I can't wait to see Sideshow's clothed and painted up.

Most definitely, $30 for a giant fully sculpted (i.e. one-off figure) is pretty impressive. I've got a fairly long queue of Hasbro figures I'm gonna work on... just trying to find the time to get the work done.

Totally agree. An another example is the Dewback. I think it is a great sculpt, just a poor paint job. Incidentally there are a few dewbacks on USA ebay going for really good prices.

As for the Gamorrean, man icruise that is a great paint job, I would love to know how to paint like that.

There are hardly ever any Gamorreans for sale in the UK. It's such a drag being a collector in the UK sometimes.
keep posting the shots I love it.

I always thought that was a cool looking design... you only see a bit of him on film, but left an impression.

Yeah, Bubo's really well done, but all SSC creatures tend to be.

The whole body of Jabba related pieces from Sideshow has been fantastic looking and some of their best stuff.
