Canceled it may be if a place to put it, I cannot find.

No way in hell I'd cancel this. I'd put it on my dinning room table if I had to.

Yeah, well, if I lived alone so would I, but I have to keep everything confined to the basement!

But at least you can afford everything :lol

I started to realize it the last few day when I was drawing up a plan to build the surronding area. Its looking about 5'x5' and that just the stairs on each side and from trapdoor to the back area.

:lol

Just wait until they do a Rancor! I would build a cage pit for him! Easy to do!

I hope I get a nice X-Mas bonus because 1st QTR of 2007 is going to be a nightmare.

That would be huge though. Quick calculations make the Rancor about 25" tall considering the scale of Jabba. Man add that to my idea an the area would be about 5'x9' and would need to be about 5' tall. It would look great have the front open so you can see the Rancor below and then thave the main throne room above it. If I had the room I would consider it.

Sounds about right... here's what I'd do, cut to fit and line a small (to scale) pet cage with ceiling tiles on three sides, throw some dirt on the floor, remove top and front sections and voila!

Mine is going on a 37" x 37" card table (along with Luke, Han, Boba and whoever else I have room for.) I think its about 28" high as well so IF a rancor ever comes down the road it may just fit under the table.

That is going to be one huge project. I was once going to make a throne room display for the hasbro sized Jabba and friends. It ended up about 4 feet wide. Thus I have put it on the shelf for later. Here is a link to some reference photos and details on the throne room. I also have a magazine that has a blueprint type layout of the throne room. I will do some digging in my attic and try to scan some pictures for you. Here is the link to get you started.

Good luck. Please post some pictures of the display during construction and finished. I and I'm sure many others would love to see your progress on such a great and big idea.
:eek :r2d2line

Great link! You know, I never noticed the mounted Tauntaun head on the wall by the display alcove before. If SS ever does give us a Han in Carbonite as a 1/6 scale figure I hope the mounted Tauntaun head (w/ a magnet) is the exclusive! :D

Anyone whip out a measuring tape and check out the throne dimensions given on the podcast -- 29x17. Its huge! Seriously, measure it out.

Sweet Jesus!!!!! I just measured that out:horror:horror

I may have to seriously rethink my Jabba purchase. I looked through out my house and I NO....NO space for it:monkey2

I can fit roughly 20 12" figures in that space.

Oh crap.:monkey4 :monkey4 :monkey4 :monkey4 :monkey4

Yeah, its huge. I think only of us that went to SDCC even have an idea how huge this thing is. Well worth the price. Even at the show scale seems off. The 12" figures, which normally look pretty big, were tiny when shown together with PF (which I don't have any of my own). Even other places were using 12" scale prototypes for their figures (McFarlane, NECA, etc.) so their figures seemed bigger than they will.

I can say that I saw it and was a reason I ordered it but it did not seem that big in person but having all those PF and and 1:1 scale items made the 12" seem small.

Anyone have a fireplace they never use? If it were wide enough, it'd be a great place to display Jabba. Set up some fancy mood lighting in there and wala... instant display window.

Thats a great Idea. Too bad fire places are below the mantle and not above it. It would kinda be hard to see from down low.

Hummm... our fireplace is about 2 feet off the ground and has a nice big stone platform in front of it... could be cool but I doubt the better half would let me do it. She is letting me get Jabba but having him in the livingroom might be the deal breaker.

Just measured the spot I had selected for this and it's 31" wide so I have a few inches to spare. phewww......

Cahoteboy, are you Filipino (wala is a Filipino word :D )? I think you meant "voila" :lol ;) .

I think your idea is great. Afireplace would be a great environment for the Jabba set up. :duff
