Cahoteboy, are you Filipino (wala is a Filipino word :D )? I think you meant "voila" :lol ;) .

I think your idea is great. Afireplace would be a great environment for the Jabba set up. :duff

They said something in the podcast about high temps causing a problem with Jabba since he's vinyl or whatever he's made out of. I think the last place you want to put him is over fire.

Haha, no, I'm not filipino... i just kinda... said "wala" for some reason. hehe.

And a fireplace is a cool place if you don't put a fire in it, Loki!

I love the new pics in the blog. Finally I have some idea of how huge this thing is going to be. This thing is bigger than most PF's. No *****ing about the price for this becuase it is simply beautiful.

I have to say I'm pretty bummed about the size of Jabba... I could have sworn they posted the dimensions as 14" deep and because of that I bought two IKEA Detolfs and planned to place him across the top!

But 17" deep!!! WTF? I have no idea where I could reasonably display him... I'm seriously considering canceling Jabba and the whole shebang, not because I don't want him or can't afford him... but I don't want something that cool if I can't even display him. That also means Bib goes on the chopping block too :monkey2 Kinda sad about that...

I could have swore that the throne was listed as smaller then now. I was looking but can't find the old ones though. I will have to find a place for him.

I was pretty sure I checked the dimensions on SS's site

I know they were repostes somewhere here, but I wasn't able to find them.

I already canceled the throne because I knew I wouldn't have room for it, and now I'm seriously reconsidering getting Jabba himself since I hear he's going to be hollow vinyl. $100+ for a hollow vinyl figure with 2 points of articulation leaves a bad taste in my wallet. My 18" Mezco Hellboy is hollow vinyl, has a pleather coat, a gunbelt with pleather holster, a real shirt with a working zipper, a nicely detailed Samaritan with opening bullet chamber and removable bullets and several points of articulation, and he only cost me around $50. Jabba's one of my favorite OT characters and I hate missing out on him, but I'm just not feeling the bang for the buck here.

I found this post from an earlier thread that quoted the size from an online retailer:

Product Type: 12-inch Figure Product Size: 26" L (660mm) x 12" D (304mm) x 9" H (229mm)* Est. Box Size: 28" L (711mm) x 14" W (356mm) x 12" H (304mm)* Est. Product Ship Weight: 20.00 lbs (8.64 Kg)

I may be crazy but I thought I saw something on the website similar to this after reading the post, but now the sizes have all been changed.

I guess I'm a little surprised by the new dimensions, if Jabba's throne is 13" tall that would mean its taller than a 1/6 figure? That seems kinda crazy?

EDIT Also check this out from Sideshow's Throne listing:

Product Size: 29" L (737mm) x 17" D (432mm) x 13" H (330mm)
Including Jabba: 16" H (406mm)*

Est. Box Size: 28" L (711mm) x 14" W (356mm) x 12" H (304mm)*

I understand its an estimate and might be wrong, but they have each length of the box as less than the actual product?!?

I noticed that too. I think they just updated the Throne size, but not the box so that is why it is now smaller than the throne. The 13" height includes that rail on the side of the throne. The stone area should only be 4" or so tall.

Yep, just figured that out :monkey3

Man, I really wish that the original supplied estimates had been corrrect, I really bought my detolfs keeping Jabba in mind as laying across both of them... but if he hangs over the top by 3" that won't work :monkey2

Have you built them yet? Maybe you can return them.

The best advice I was ever given was to never buy something until you can measure the item yourself. That's why Im putting off getting anything special for Jabba until he is in my hands early next year. That way I can figure how I want to display him, take him out and measure him, then send him back into his box until my area is ready for him.

Im lucky I plan to put him in the shelving unit I got for Grievous, If Grievous can fit I know I'm good. Its going to end up getting its own shelf so now I have to find a place for some the items that are on that shelf right now.

Bingo... thats the way to do it. Or get something you know it will fit on like I am (a 37" x 37" table)

I haven't, but I bought them in Dallas (closest IKEA) which is about 4 1/2 hrs away... so I'll be keeping them. I guess I was trusting that measurements of a piece would be fairly easy to get right. I mean, I'm no carpenter but I'm fairly certain I could tell the difference between 14" and 17".

But it happens, so now I just have to figure out if I want to keep this figure on order or not. I have a while to decide so we'll see.

GB, I'm sure you'll find other good uses for your Detolfs. I almost bought one (but it was too long and wouldn't fit in my car... sometimes it's way too difficult to buy from Ikea... even if you ARE close to one). I decided to just get another Billy instead... though I held off on getting that one until a later date.
