I still haven’t been able to obtain Aquaman here in Australia. I’ve decided to import from the UK. For ten dollars extra it’ll save me the frustration of trying to track one down locally.

I love how great these turn out with a little work! Still want to make a more elaborate base for my faux-PF, but the paint is finally done. As far as I'm concerned, Jakks saved me $600.

I wish they did these in 12" scale as well like the Star wars figures. I'd love to do a custom Cyborg but I can't fit these anymore.

I've done the shoe polish weathering on the torso and then tested the cutouts for the lighting with my mobile phone light. Wiring up the actual lighting and painting the head will be the trickiest parts. Happy with where it's heading though!

One last pic - a before and after of today's progress. So far I've pulled the figure apart, cut the lighting holes, spray painted an aluminum coat, done a wash of black shoe polish to weather it and finished things off by scouring back the weathering to show the highlights.

Next weekend I'll be sorting out the lighting and painting the head. Hopefully I'll have Aquaman by then as he's the last one to do!

My Aquaman turned up today. I got started on him immediately! Some of that gold detailing was a real pain in the ass (the triangles on the gauntlets and lower legs in particular). I've still got to paint the head, but after the gold and black shoe polish wash the suit is sorted. Came up a treat.

Here's a before pic, after the gold and lastly after the shoe polish wash:

Dressed like a bat. I dig it. :D

I finished off my Aquaman custom today. I might replace the hair and possibly futz with the beard but for now I'm done!

I painted the face and hair today. I think I finally got the hang of doing eyes. They sure aren't perfect but they came out pretty well and capture Momoa's steely gaze.

Although not my favourite character, I think this is my best work yet. Really happy with how it turned out and I've learnt a heap along the way! Here's some pics:

Thanks! Appreciate it!

Your Cyborg is looking awesome! The metal has come up very nicely.

The lights are a bit fiddly to do. :D I'm waiting on a blue LED before I can move on with mine.

cheers

i just dry brushed it with silver paint :lol

yeah fiddlys one word for it :lol

i just split his head from the center back to the hair line to reduce the fiddly ,hope it glues back okay :lol

drilled the eye and the blue forehead bit and warmed the head and pushed the leds in when it cools down holds them nice and firm ,but will hot glue them when i put it all back together properly :)

I got the Justice League 19" Wonder Woman and was curious how much potential does the head sculpt have. So I did a little experiment with some quick repainting. Here are the result:
