Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I quickly put the outfit and head on a regular che that is not extended with just stuffed up shoes and heels not pushed all the way down to show how easy it is to heighten him

the other one i posed has extended ankles but actually gutting off and re attaching with styrene and hot glue. the difference is basically the same, had i known I would have not gone through the trouble.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Good looking 007 there. I have the SSC Connery tux on a DID All Era body and, considering it was tailored for a Buck, it doesn't look half bad. I'll post what I have when I get the DID head.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Looking good ray. Is that body a good fit for the medicom neck, then? I haven't really progressed on my Bond since we both bought the medicom heads from TA as I never had a body that fit and haven't managed to buy one since.

That tux looks good too. Tempted.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Thanks guys IMO It's the most accurate looking body to DC's build on the market and I don't even know what other body this tux could fit on, believe me I have almost every body on the market and it didn't fit on any of them. I'm just glad it fit on this.

Platty the head does need the hole inside the head dremeled a little deeper but it fits on the neck plug just fine after that.

In my humble opinion the Medicom head is far from perfect but there is not one single head on the market currently that comes even close to it in terms of being the best head out there.

I hope BBKill's will challenge that, if he even releases it. right now it's my main hope. IMO it looks good but I do not believe in color printing, I hope he releases them in flesh resin casts.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I haven't read anything to indicate he'll release them printed in color - only the opposite, that this was only for his testing purposes. 3D rapid prototypes themselves aren't suitable as finished goods, especially something like a head sculpt - there's a lot of fine manual/hand work to be done to the final output to clean it up before it can be used to make a traditional mold for casting.

Do you have an image of that Che body unclothed?

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

LOL,

Those are my bodies. The DID head won't fit, it has a neck, the RM-5 (The Montana body.) has a sculpted neck as part of the upper torso.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I just got my Blue Very Cool Tux. I used the Medicom Jake head but sanded off the hair and re-sculpted it. I messed up on his eye lashes but will fix it.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Share the pictures of the great customs, but please keep the sales in the commerce section.

Thanks.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

You have a lot of Craigs. And every head available. Amazing.

Truly amazing, but I think he's missing the Brother Production Agent Bone. ;) It's interesting, looking at that pic and finding that my favorites of the group are Mr. Tan and Mr. Pale, not in terms of likeness, but just how the whole figure looks with the clothing chosen for the photo. That's second from the left and second from the right if you didn't figure out the nicknames. ;)

With regards to suits, I've got the Toys City tux on pre-order from BBTS and I hope it fits a TT Regular which I'm using for my custom Connery. My plans for the Craig custom have changed again and they've left me without a choice suit. With the wait time for another head sculpt I suppose that's not a bad thing and I can keep searching. I have some flexibility because I'd like to pose with open jacket and un-done tie, so even a suit that's not specifically a tux can work here.

but please keep the sales in the commerce section.

I think you've posted in the wrong thread. No one in here is abusing the rules of the forum as they're written or even in spirit. Though over-reaching mods kind of rub me the wrong way moreso than someone skirting a rule. If a particular person was skating on too-thin ice, a polite PM would be more appropriate than an overtly, but non-specific and un-targeted parental-like chastising in the thread.

I just deleted a post from yesterday (posted at 6:01 pm) which had the following:

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in buying the one I built. Comes with the Black Very Cool Tuxedo, SIMPLZ Toys head, Hot Toys KO Narrow truetype, and the DID Jack pistol and silencer. Asking $125 shipped for him, or give me your best offer. Just have a lot of pre orders that are taking priority over this. Let me know if your interested.[/

Please enlighten me how A) I've posted in the wrong thread B) this isn't against the rules of the forum (posting sales outside of the commerce section) and C) I'm an "over-reaching mod"?

Added as your post was edited...

A PM was sent. And it was polite. The post was to remind EVERY member about the rules.

You didn't mention that in your post which addressed everyone as if the group was somehow misusing this thread/forum.

Please enlighten me how A) I've posted in the wrong thread

Because according to forum rules, that post was perfectly legitimate.

Forum Rules said:
It's okay to post about an item for sale in a thread about that item, but it's not really cool to start a thread about it unless it's in one of the above mentioned [sales] forums.

B) this isn't against the rules of the forum (posting sales outside of the commerce section)

See above, it's perfectly spelled out in the rules this kind of post is allowed.

C) I'm an "over-reaching mod"?

No reference for what you were talking about in your post, deleting a post without the polite hint publicly in the thread - again since it doesn't violate any rule and is specifically allowed by a spelled out rule.

A PM was sent. And it was polite. The post was to remind EVERY member about the rules.

Right, but the rules are very easy to access and it's probably better to send a link to the rules so that everyone can read precisely what they are and aren't.

Here they are: https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/faq.php?faq=new_faq_item

It's not like that message was an advertisement either. And remember, I didn't even know which specific message was be referenced when I ear the post and wrote my reply. I just think it's extremely important to remember that people make the community - and these people add 100% of the value to a forum. Of course mods part of the same group of people and share equally in the value added, but there's always the potential for that slippery slope where over-moderation starts to really cut down on expression, light-heartedness and just plain general fun. When that goes away, the community starts to wither.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I'm glad that you're taking a moment to familiarize yourself with the forum rules. Take a moment to read this one:

The final arbiters of what is acceptable are the admin and mods. Do not argue with them

and

In order to keep things running smoothly the admin or a mod may ask you to remove an image or delete a post. Please do not argue with these decisions.

Can we get back to Bond now or do I need to over-reach some more?

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Noted. And thanks for the clarification - it's been much more helpful than you'll ever know.
