Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Hey thanks a lot everyone! Glad to hear I'm at least on the right track with this. :)

That's amazing dave! And I agree completely with 16k. There's too much hair. Other than that it looks great!

A smirking bond...hmm.

Yeah I agree, the hair needs to be a lot shorter especially on top. He's got such a weird shaped head that it's been a challenge trying to figure out all the different proportions or how wide or thick to make everything.

And the expression I was going for was that sort of half-smile, half-grimace thing he does a lot. Like in these pics:

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Haha, that was my original plan, but there aren't really any good 1/6 suits available for that movie. And plus the shorter hair he's sporting in the latter three movies is just so much easier to sculpt. :D

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Davejames -- first absolutely incredible job. Really love the style of your sculpt.

Second, I would agree with Pix and say take the Casino route with alittle more hair. Either that or get a jump on the game and go Spectre.

Actually the front of the hair is modeled directly after his hair in the Spectre poster. It's just the rest that is a bit too thick.

Aha! I didn't connect before, but don't be fooled guys, DAVID James is who I'm familiar with and he is a big time sculptor IMO! If you haven't seen any of his sculpts you're missing some good stuff! Kirk Alyn, Dean Cain, William Shatner! I can go on and on. This Craig is looking awesome!! Keep up the good work Dave!!

Hold on a second here... So is this a case of wolf in sheep's clothing? Playing the modesty card for so long on the sly? I have to say, the level of skill shown in this Craig sculpt is not from someone who's just "fooling around" ;)

Lol, thanks, but I am definitely not a big time sculptor. I've been doing it for quite a while, but just as a hobby on the side. And I am still new at sculpting realistic 1/6 likenesses (you just have to look at my pathetic attempts at sculpting Ford to see I still have a ways to go).

But you can see some of my stuff at davjames (David James) - DeviantArt if you want.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

You're out of your mind, those are all some seriously strong efforts. Great stuff.

I always wanted to know what happends with that one?Who have seen it finished?

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Ok don't laugh, but thought I'd take a shot at doing a Craig sculpt. I wanted to try something besides the usual super-serious expression, but don't know if it came across well or not.

And yeah I realize it's probably still has a loooooong way to go yet. Lol

Sweet! I really like it!

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I believe it was a private commission and may never have made it beyond what you see there.
But even private comission-it could be finished and even painted. Will be very interisting to see final result.Likness was spot on (fore me).
