Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I really like it of course but Vimal is a buddy of mine and he's done lots of sculpts for me so I'm biased. I think it's a great Craig with lots of detail that the Bbkill sculpt lacks. The only downside to the ML sculpt is it might look a bit too old for Skyfall Craig

Thanks for the explanation rob , so more of the spectre bond then yes ?
I think its the best Craig to date do you agree .

I personally thinks it's the best option out there at the moment when comparing them. the Bbkill sculpt while great, suffers from a bit too much unrealistic skin texturing on the neck and forehead. But the Bbkill sculpt has a neck which the ML sculpts lacks I wish they would've made it a necked sculpt.

Agree there think it would defiantly benefit from a neck the bbkills sculpt is great but seem a little thin in the face , is the paint app to pale on ml ?

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

I watched on her Majesty Secret Service last night for the first time in several years. I can't say I enjoyed the movie as much as I have in the past, but I did think George Lazenby made a pretty good bond. He definitely had a charm to him and a confidence. Unfortunately, some of the lines he was given were not very good and the whole him falling in love and being lovey dovey was kinda sappy. Also, several of his outfits were plain embarrassing!

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Also, this remix of On Her Majesty's Secret Service is by far my favorite Bond theme. I used to listen to this incessantly when it came out originally. The bassline at 6:50 is beyond epic.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

We all wish the stunts and production values of these older movies were up to current standards, but when you take them in stride with the time, I agree, how can you not put Connery at the top?

I have to go back and watch them again. As a kid my first Bond film (on TV) was The Spy Who Loved Me...as far as I was concerned Roger Moore WAS James Bond, for a long time. I did catch Connery in Thunderball but I wouldn't appreciate his Bond until I was older.

I have only vague memories of Brosnan and Dalton; I do recall being impressed by at least one Brosnan film.

I think Craig is a perfect contemporary Bond; but would likely rate him just below Connery and over Moore.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Finally saw Spectre last night - loved it. My Craig figure is definitely going to be a composite instead of trying to replicate precisely the look of one particular movie. Leaning toward the teaser-worn outfit from Spectre including PPK, along with additional guns and teaser/promo setting/background from Casino Royale. Head sculpt may better match that from another movie entirely - we'll have to see about that. :)

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

You know, I know it was considered "great" and "revolutionary" for the time, but what always takes me out of the old Connery films was the editing. Not the time period, not the SFX - After all, I'm a TOS Trekkie who came of age in the 90's, so I'm not picky that way. I remember reading about how the editor liked to cut frames of film out during fight or fast moving scenes, and I find it really jarring. Everything else seems to stand the test of time...sure, clothing and set design are dated, but that's just period specific.

I do feel like the use of rear-screen projection can take you out of scenes sometimes - especially in OHMSS and Thunderball - but it's not nearly as bad as the editing.

Oh, and I'm sure it has something to do with the limitations of coloring at the time, but jeez, all the blood always looks like fire truck-red paint (a common problem at that time, though). Couldn't they have just used strawberry jelly or something?

I know what you mean, the sped up fight scenes are really terrible to watch these days. The pre-credit fight sequence from "Thunderball" comes to mind for me first.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

You guys probably don't want to watch Fury Road if you're not a fan of dropped frames and the Keystone Kops.

Haha I didn't mind it as much in Fury Road but it did stick out to me in that film as well, and made me think of the early Connery films.
