Went to the Bond Villains exhibit at the International Spy Museum in DC about two weeks ago and saw the scary disfigured teeth prosthetic from the movie... and decided I'm going to do a true face version eventually. I'll probably work on it when I'm too annoyed with sculpting Craig-Bond to be productive (he's next). My housemate also made the suggestion that I make this prosthetic for him to hold, which makes the whole thing even more enticing.

Daniel Craig head sculpt. Other than the Medicom C&A's sculpt is there another mass produced one?

Who has done the best custom DC head? Who can help me out with one?

The other ones that are mass produced are

Loading toys
This upcoming zcwo one
Ttl Gestapo (recast of the Feng head)
The one Natchan is offering that comes with the suit or tux

The best massed produced one is hands down no question the Medicom one period. But it needs a repaint. Repainted it's one of the best likenesses in 1/6. Second runner I'd say is the TTL Gestapo but it also needs a repaint badly and is a little dated feeling.

As for custom heads the best IMO is BBkills. He offered them unpainted so you would need to get it painted. I don't think he is offering them anymore though. He did sky fall with the beard and casino royale I have a spare casino royale unpainted i can sell if you or anyone else is interested.

Do you have links to the BBKILL sculpt? I've probably seen some 10-15 Craig sculpts but for the life of me I have no idea which one is BBKill's and I can't find it with a search at the moment.

Some people will also mention the DID sculpt, but that doesn't look a thing like Craig at all and shouldn't even be considered to have been inspired by the actor's likeness. The Loading Toys one is bad and may as well be some random person on the street. It's not Craig any more than I am when I squint my eyes.

The Medicom one has been used a lot, but IMO, it never comes off successfully as Bond to my eye. It just looks like he's been through a meat grinder most of the time, sometimes coming back out looking like Alfred E. Numan from MAD Magazine.

By far the best sculpt I've ever come across is one that has not been mass-produced and was made by a forum member. I'm sure it's been mentioned a million times, but it's worth mentioning again because it's just THAT good. BUT. Huge BUT. The scale is off and won't match your body of choice. Too bad.

The one in your other link, by ImaresqD1, is really, really nice, probably the nicest Daniel Craig sculpt I've ever seen and owned. Save for ONE major thing, it's more like 1/5 than 1/6 and doesn't match up to any body or look good next to any other figure. Such a shame, unless someone like Kaiburr can shrink it like he did the PF Indy. Do you think that's worth a try!?

Ok, I've seen that one a number of times. It's good, but I don't like it enough to say I like it best. It's one of the ones I was referring to that come off looking like Alfred E. Numan. IMO, one of the common failing of that sculpt is the elongation of Craig's head. He's got a very round head and I suppose some sculptors just ignore that. It also exaggerates some of his features and wrinkles which, at this scale just doesn't work well, IMO.

Contrast it against the Imaresq sculpt to see what I'm talking about. You just have to ignore some of the bad paint-ups that have been done.

I have both and do know what you mean, if someone could shrink ImaresqD1's we'd have a winner.

Someday someone will nail him, depends on how long he stays popular I guess.....

I can see I need to make a comp of all the Bond Craig sculpts out there so people can discuss which one is truly the best.

I like bbkill's and the Medi-Craig (based on Ray's custom).

We also have to realize that no sculpt is going to be "perfect" for all situations, obviously because the human face is not sculpted nor cast to begin with. It's dynamic, ever moving and ever changing, and that's already ignoring external variables such as lighting and makeup.

Look in the mirror (ignore that the image is reversed) and then look at a few dozen photographs of yourself to see how different one can be from the other. It's amazing sometimes how different a face can look even between photos taken in the same session.

The iris are too small. That's definitely one of the best re-paints I've seen on that sculpt - any Craig sculpt probably.
