But even more unmistakable than the previous examples - and it's still unpainted. This has the potential to be the best sculpt available in quantities over a handful - by a long shot. I'm actually very surprised we're seeing all this Craig action recently. Seems a little badly timed in my opinion.

I'll have to see IF this DiD head is released and how the paintwork is, but it's looking like my new choice over the ZCWO. It does have its problems but the DiD looks pretty good so far and I know I'll be able to get that head for $25-$30 and be done.
Like I said, with a finished head and that ToysCity black shawl-collared tux, I think it will be a very satisfactory Craig Bond to stand along my other, older and less fancy Bonds.

Pick it apart as much as you like, more for me! Much as an Iminime head would appeal to me it'd cost more than this and you'd still have to paint it, or spend a fortune getting someone else to do it. The DID head, if released (pleeeeease), will be painted to near HT standard already and cost a lot less loose. Also, a nude on the All Era Action Body could prove a big threat to the ZCWO.

That is a great sculpt though, I'm definitely gonna buy it.
Like wor-gar says, it will look great with the toys city tux. It's a shame that it's not a dark blue like in the film.

I think this one is a no brainer. The painted version will definitely be worth seeing. Also, DID are consistent with their paint.

I'm not really sold on it, i mean its decent and i bet it will be the strongest of the readily Avalible sculpts, but as per usual DID just misses the mark on a few things in their sculpts. His jaw is much too square and his eyes are off,
But I hold hope that it will be a very solid head nonetheless.

Yes, well, if it's the difference between it getting released and getting a C & D then I'm all for a few minor imperfections. I think that's how DID get away with what they do.

So many options but so many that are absolutely terrible and the majority that are absolutely mediocre. And two brilliant ones that will not be released. It's why when I see a head that's looking ok but not brilliant i really frankly don't care anymore
the Adam skyfall head not being released really kills it for me.

If you like Adam's work, commission a sculpt. How much does he charge for a one-off? How about for casting? The only other really good head I know of, done by Adam's friend, is completely the incorrect scale.

For me, it's a question of money. A specially commissioned pro sculpt and paintjob are out of the question. Obviously I can paint my own, which I'm doing with BBKill's, but, when DID do a nice sculpt and can paint it better than me then it's win win. Especially as a head and body from them will cost me way less than ZC's offering or an unpainted head from anyone else.

The private commission thread was definitely not the right place to try and start an interest list for another sculpt. If the original patron had stepped forward, it would have been something else entirely to ask him about splitting costs and then finding out if Adam was interested in casting - privately would have been best.
I think there would be enough interested parties in a definitive sculpt to help bring the costs down. If that sculpt were offered painted I'm sure there would be a lot more. And I think that's the hardest sell for any sculpt-only offer. If you're paying $50 to $100 for a piece, you probably want something that looks amazing when finished. Unless you're a very talented airbrush artist, you're not going to get that, no matter how good the sculpt is.
So if you're an enterprising sort of individual, you might write to Adam and one or two very talented painters and see what kind of rates you can negotiate, then start up a sales thread and set your own price on the finished product.

Right? Nothing near as good as this DiD one has been released in large quantities. Customs have come as close to that in the past but even some of them have fallen shorter of achieving a good likeness. Are there some customs that are better? Yup. Are they available to us? Nope. So not really an option to be comparing this to. Not sure about you guys, but I could never afford to have a private commission made so it's not an option for me. The fact that this is already sculpted and will be painted makes it an even more viable option for those of us on a tight budget.
Anyone still prefer the ZCWO head? I kind of like it for its artistic flair. It looks like a sculpture with the hard edges and less life-like, but there's something charming about it. It doesn't fit with my collection of "life-like as possible" so I won't be getting it. But it does photograph well. One of the best mass produced heads in my opinion. Might look nice with the old SSC heads.

Agreed word for word. I'm fairly excited to see that did sculpt painted up, a year or two ago I'd be in love with it, but seeing Adams just kind of takes the edge off. For me it doesn't get better than Adams sculpt, it's what I achieve for in collecting, absolute perfection. The commissioner is a lucky guy indeed.

Not had it confirmed yet, but, it has been said that the 'DID' sculpt may be one of their 3R line, one of the SS Musikkorps figures they're doing.
From my experience of 3R they are even a notch above the usual DID heads. The Toshiro Mifune head they did is outstanding. This could get exciting!
