Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

:lol

Hopefully the final release version will be better. If its worse, than maybe I'll go for the ZCWO one... although to me that one has such harsh angles. But hey, until I see in-hand pics, anything's up for grabs at this point. I just want a Craig Bond amongst my twenty-two Bond characters.

I've got the ZCWO on pre-order and I'll post pics once he's in-hand. He'll do fine next to my other uneven Craig Bonds.

So far I think I lean toward the ZCWO sculpt as a favorite of the readily available Craig sculpts.

I'm more forgiving of finishing than I am of a poor likeness. I don't care if it has perfectly sculpted individual hairs or microscopic pores if the underlying sculpt doesn't look like who its supposed to look like. Then it's just a really good sculpt of someone. Sometimes it's just in the mood of the sculpt too, and if it feels like the character.

With regard to collection sizes and matching, the only thing I really need is for the sub-sets within my collection to match each other in terms of sculpt style and realism. They'll be displayed in series-related groups, so it doesn't matter if my Dalton is much more doll-like than my eventual BBC Sherlock figures because they'll be on different shelves. I'm sculpting my own Skyfall set because while they certainly won't be the best on the market, they'll be consistent and look good together.

I've got a group of Bond baddies (as well as one of my Connery Bonds) playing poker together-- but other than that the others are posed in a group-- the only problem I see is that one of my bashed Connerys (with a grey suit) is noticeably shorter than the others... I call him Medicom Connery. :)

Tough to get consistency with Bond. For instance, I have Jaws from 2003 along side my bashed Stromberg with DiD sculpt along side my bashed Moore with that terrible Headplay sculpt (for now). All very divergent levels of realism and character likeness. I've tried my hardest to get them to mesh best I could as all of you undoubtedly have seen in my posts. I know its not everyone's cup of tea... but thanks for being kind to me. :)

Your customs are awesome-- keep sharing. :wave

The harsh angles actually appeal to me. Usually I'm all about hyper-realism and I hate "artistic flair" renowned sculptors such as Rainman and Feng employ, but for some reason, it works on the ZCWO Bond for me. As I said, he'll be my only Bond so I have no worries. And you don't seem nearly as picky as most of us so no worries on whichever you like best and choose to purchase.

Going back and forth on the outfit. I think a BLACK tux will end up being more iconic. I like CR more than SF anyways so it'd make sense to have that outfit. But the blue is very unique and different. And then there's the gray Asmus suit still.... :lol

Like I said, I've got the ZCWO (and tux) on pre-order so I'll post as soon as they arrive in case others are on the fence. :007

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Oh goody!

I'm looking forward to seeing a few in hand pics of the choices. I still like the DID/3R one and will see what that's like before committing to anything else.

Still saying pre-order (the possible arrival was April 30th). But once it's sent I'll post.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Word from KGHobby today says the Brothers Production MI6 figure will be out in "early May" - we'll see about that. I had to ask them if they'd ship one of the items of my order in advance because I need it for a gift in late May. As it stands, this figure is also holding up my HT Alice figure from shipping.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Aw shucks, Ray. :) Thank you.

I just started a new job about three weeks ago so my customizing has been put on hold until I'm not the "new guy" anymore, but I have another Bond bash on the bench as we speak. Hope she's done in the next couple weeks.

I love your Bond collection and think they look remarkably good together... probablybecause you put so much into each one. Still waiting on that all-inclusive group pic!

Oh good,

That's one I haven't ruled out yet. In hand some of the Brothers figures can differ from prototypes, some for the better, some not.

We shall see.....

Thank you too, leia. I'm eager to add your Raoul Silva to my group.

I did post the below cut-and-paste group pic a while back, didn't I? If not, here's an excuse to do it again. But if you mean my whole collection all together in one shot -- that's something I still have to do. I wonder if I can even get them all in a frame together (21 figures as of today).

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Snyderman Sculpt. Totally underrated. Anyone who says it looks nothing like Craig, simply put, is wrong. :)

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Snyderman's looks great there. Haven't seen it with the proper paint up and suit yet. Context certainly helps :)

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

Could be wrong but I think that is snyderman's paintwork. At least it looks similar to the one I've seen in person.

Re: OFFICIAL JAMES BOND THREAD

It's a nice looking figure, but, I would say that its impact is somewhat diminished by the stand.

A more discreet one would make it look so much better. Blitzway are now doing really nice stands.
