Neytiri is the most popular character...HT NEEDS to make her. I have the 4 inch Neytiri from Mattel I got at TRU, but the movie masters ones are impossible to find. They'll go down in price eventually like with the Joker figure from Mattel, so I'll just wait,

Re: I saw AVATAR in 3D!

I love neytiri!, James Cameron Always does amazing special edition cuts

I honestly wouldn't expect a lot of extra footage, with something like this where most of the film is CG, they don't usually do effects for shots that get cut from the movie since it's so expensive, so there probably isn't much that's been cut with the effects completed. Plus with all the new developments that allow JC to previsulize the movie and get the shots he wants he can more easily shoot what he needs for the final cut without wasting time on ideas that don't pan out.

Except, he maybe did shot extra scenes with Extended version of the movie in mind!
If he did planned to have proper (not like T Salvation, with 3 minutes of added scenes) extended version on DVD/BlueRays, I wouldn't be surprised if it happens..
Looking forward to see disc releases with all the extras, making of/s, behind the scene/s etc.

Re: I saw AVATAR in 3D!

Is it me or are people a little to obsessed with neytiri.

Re: I saw AVATAR in 3D!

I finally saw Avatar today and we decided to drive out of town and see it in 3D. Absolutely amazing! Avatar is the most fun I've had at the movies in a LONG time.

Tentacle porn deleted scene?

Dark Knight bashing?

Movie making buttloads o cash?

Darklord Dave being pestered by haters?

Where have I been?

Oh, and I really want to see this movie again but it ain't gonna happen. Guess I'll wait till Blu-ray.

So I finally saw this. As everyone has said before, the visuals were amazing. Seeing as how I haven't seen some of the movies the story's been compared to, the plot didn't feel too overused, but it was totally predicable. That being said, I have no desire to see this again if it isn't 3D. What made this movie good was staring at the pretty 3D scenery, and repeated viewings would be boring in 2D.

Re: I saw AVATAR in 3D!

but the movie masters ones are impossible to find.

I was able to open a case today at Wal-Mart and get one. The breakdown was:

2 Quatritch
2 Warrior Jake (got one)
1 Avatar Jake
1 Neytiri (got it)

now I have all 5 (the four above plus the Target exclusive with the game) so they obviously aren't impossible to get, though it does seem to be a bit dumb packing her 1 to a case.

On the other hand, none of the figures seem to be warming the pegs too much. I figured Quaritch would be a pegwarmer but I think they're actually moving. I think it's a situation where parents are buying these too and some of them may buy regular Jake and some may buy the warrior version (which is definitely the cooler of the two) but either way Quaritch works as the "bad guy".

But yeah, Mattel seemed to have no problem filling the demand for the Joker figure so I'm sure they'll actually start upping the numbers on the Neytiri figure (as opposed to keeping them down intentionally) and before you know it they'll probably be plentiful.

I kinda think the "plain" Jake figure actually has the most pegwarmer potential now that the cooler warrior figure is out there. That one is definitely my least favorite of the 5.

Re: I saw AVATAR in 3D!

Found another forum for a couple of you: https://www.naviblue.com/

Pass the Kool-Aid! :duff

At first I thought that it was just a run-of-the-mill fan site. Then I saw some of the thread titles..

Funny story today:

I walk out to my car after work and in the parking garage parked next to me is a huge blue SUV with the license plate "MY NAVI." I stop and think you've got to be kidding. Someone saw the movie and instantly went out and dropped 40 grand on a blue truck with Avatar vanity plates? And then I noticed that it was a Navigator.... Someone isn't going to be too happy when those websites get some mainstream late night heckling and everyone starts making the same mistake I did when they see his ride. :lol

Re: I saw AVATAR in 3D!
