Re: I saw AVATAR in 3D!

Hi, its me again..Canadian guy, i felt a tit over the weekend in real life 3D and it was good.

got my tickets bought for Sunday, 4:30pm - 3D. Can't wait.

Makes me laugh the way these threads always get into fights, with people feeling that they somehow have to 'defend' their views on why they love/hate a film.

It's. A. Movie.

I suggest some of you learn to live with the fact that other people might like things that you hate, and might hate things that you like... and move on.

There's a life out there... and it seems several of you could do with getting one :lol

I dunno, my life revolves around this movie. You picking a fight with me Darren? This is my livelihood we're talking about! I can not separate this film from my every day life! There is no defining line. It all is one blur... now you're in that blur. It's cruisin'fer'abruisin' time..

aiyyyeeeeeeee!!!!

Regarding the TV spot posted above...
Granted, I haven't seen the movie so don't know the whole story line yet, but I find it complete BS (from what I know of the story) that he says that they are fighting for their survival. They AREN'T fighting for their survival, they are fighting for some crazy resource on Pandora that makes life simpler for humans and makes people rich. They could just leave if they wanted to. I am excited to see the film, but I feel like I already know the story, word-for-word, the bad guys and the good, and what happens in the end. And who dies. But I guess the same can be said for Titanic - it's what Cameron did with it that made it a success. It will be interesting to see how this pans out amongst the 'general audiences' not internet film geeks like us ;)

You need to worry less about how the audience will receive it and spend more time on telling Sideshow to ramp up production speed on some top notch AVATAR merch!!! :)

My IQ is 129 thanks. I have said ( obviously you're too blind or stupid to read ) that this movie may be great, but that I refuse to call it a "masterpiece" before I see it. I have seen the previews and it does not look like something I will enjoy. I will see it on DVD eventually and will judge it then. My issue is with people like you who have already decided that it's a "work of art" from some lousy ( IMO ) previews.

If you can't see people in this thead already calling this film a masterpiece before seeing it then your a blind homer ( sport fan reference ). I never once said this movie is going to "suck balls". I don 't know if it's good or lousy yet. I base my initial thoughts on the previews, but will reserve final judgement until I see it eventually. Many on the opposing side have already set their minds to "masterpiece" though. Whatever.

Your opinion cannot be completely valid even after you watch the film if your just going to watch in on "DVD" as you will not be experiencing it the way it was created and intended to on the big screen and in 3D. That is the environment those calling it a masterpiece saw it in.

Im sure it will be awesome LW but i'm somewhat doubtful that it will be bigger than the battle in ROTK.

Whilst i'm really looking forward to the film and are listening to a few people who have seen it rather than the critics i still have no doubt there will still be varying opinions after people have seen the film.

Cant believe some are you guys are falling for Shai's bait just let it go.:lol

I know someone has already put up a few of the Golden Globe Nominations but heres the full list including yes you got it best song and score.:D

Best Picture, Drama: Avatar
Best Director: James Cameron, Avatar
Best Song: “I Will See You,” Avatar
Best Score: Avatar

Its already been said that the last act is much larger than even LOTR ROTK

dude wtf is with people judging the movie by the previews, Truth be told i didnt think The Dark knight would be good judging by the previews but then i watched it and i was blown away.

Another thing who cares about the song nobodies forcing you guys to listen to it and it sounds like the titanic song a little.

They have released SOOO many documentaries-Over 20 TV spots, featurettes, and other media that there has been plenty of visual enlightenment into the movie to have a good basis for judgement even before seeing the film.

I will see this in the theater. But that's me. I passed up on TONS of movies this summer. I have been watching them all on BluRay. The most recent was Harry Potter. I skipped out on Terminator, Transformer, GI JOE, Inglorious Basterds, and many others. What does it matter to you what people do with their time? For ????s sakes this is becoming worse than any Star Wars thread. Just because someone isn't interested at first or can't go see it doesn't make them a troll. I see more trolls in this room just based off of biased fan boy crap. Who the ???? cares what who the ???? cares. All of you shut the ???? up! I have spoken. :lol

I didnt see Inglorious Bastards in the theater but I did see it. I still to this day dont like Quentin Tarentino films. I only watched to see Brad Pitts performance. I really cant stand that movie. It is beyond me why it has gotten the acclaim it has.

There is a difference between being "afraid it is good" and going into a movie without a preconceived notion that the movie is a "masterpiece." I'm the latter.

I am genuinely interested in how this movie will change the way movies are made. The last time this happened we had the proliferation of "bullet time" into every movie after the Matrix came out. Yuck.

But in this case the tech to be used in future films is better motion capture and 3D. The virtual camera/fusion camera/emotion capture, new pipelines for rendering, etc- Not to mention maybe it will raise the bar for some directors/films

Sorry but you are just as stubborn as the people that say they won't see it. And IMO that makes you worse. As I have said I can't wait to see it. Would I go on a blind date and say before I meet the woman that I would eat the V? Nope! I need to know what I'm up for before I make that choice. Maybe you need more V? :lol

Based on the reviews and all the massive amounts of scenes already shown, and the fact that I went to AVATAR Day and saw 15 minutes already I think gives you the validation to say you really like it or it will do well without just being blinded by hype or fanboyism.

unknown leads, classic story of good vs evil, groundbreaking sfx... sounds more like star wars new hope to me.

Sounds like just about every movie that comes out these days.

Whats refreshing is almost every big film that comes out these days is either a book, a prequel, a sequel, reboot, or something already known- and this one is not.

Dont give me the dances with wolves thing-critics have already shot that down. You can come up with some comparison nomatter what the story. This movie does not have Costner and takes place on another planet with completely different plot elements.

Ok, now some troll will rebuttle

Says the person with 2600 posts in the sideshow forums...lol j/k

True, very true. Its just entertaining to chatter amongst eachother about the topic and throw out your opinion. When it gets to fighting or name calling-it is a bit excessive

Anxious to see it in Cinemark XD 3D Midnight Tomorrow!!!
