I went ahead and got the figure and head sent out to Silent Surfer.

I think all he'll need now are hands and boots, correct?

Should be cool, guys!

I'm not sure. the hands are gloved so I didn't think anything was getting done to them. if they are I'll just ship the holster and hands together. the holster is being shipped to me right now. its pretty close to the one he used in the show.

Hi, all. Unless anyone objects I will be making this in the next fortnight or so:

I will do the ringers on the sleeves.

For sizing, how does the Comedian body compare to the Royce body?

Got it. I'll spill some paint on it when I get an opening. I can't wait to repaint mine at the same time. My technique has grown so much since then.

It's the exact same body so you should be good to go.

Silent surfer, Are you going to be painting the hands as well? I just need to know who to send it to.

I have the boots and the pants ready to go. The boots need feet and pegs. I THINK I may have an extra set, I will check. Everything is going to you SilentSurfer?

Here is my gauge swatch and color choices for the hat. I am close enough to knit up a hat but I am a little unsure about my colors. I would have preferred the red be just a bit deeper, but since the concept behind the hat is re-purposed faded yarns I think I'm close enough. What do you all think?

I feel the colors are to pastel. I have the cap that Chad was selling and the colors much more vivid, and closely match the series cap.

His colors are much too bright. But I haven't been happy with mine either. Right now I am testing my pattern and will go from there. That way I can narrow down the choices.

Can you post a pic of it? Because I do believe ss is too pastel as well. But I would love to see Chad's version.

Maybe we can get chad involved.

Btw, I am sending boots, pants and gaiters to Silentsurfer soon. I still don't have feet and pegs for the boots though.

Annddd..I like it! I think that one is just perfectly fine to be honest. And it's done, and is an extra. So why not!

How about because I already invested money in making mine. Something of which I have very little to begin with.

Personally I think this is pretty crappy. But you guys can do whatever you want.

I'm all for you making it, we just need to get you the accurate colors. I think if you google Jayne hat, you can find a ton of good reference pics.

This isn't my first rodeo. I have already been through every pic if Jayne Cobb hats available. Matter of fact I have made several for humans, and tea pots, and christmas trees and etc.

This is the image I have chosen to base my colors off. It is well lit and shows the colors pretty well. Jayne's hat is not red orange and yellow like so many people think. it is actually 3 shades of orange. Red/orange, orange, and yellow/orange. I have even read interviews from Joss Whedon where he was asked about the hat. He stated that Ma Cobb wouldn't have been a very good knitter and the yarn for the hat would have been something taken from an old sweater. I do my homework before starting a project. Unfortunately I had to order the yarn and the colors on the screen can vary from reality so it may be a bit hit or miss to find the right colors, but as I said before I will wait to order new yarns until I have finished my "test hat" to make sure everything else is correct and to scale.

Here is another angle in low light. This is where the yarns really look different colors. what I am looking for are mustard yellow, dull orange, and rust. I think these may be about as close as you can get however I am using some ultra fine yarns which greatly reduces my available color choices and short of dying my own yarn (which may take us over the deadline) I will have to use what is available.

I get where you are coming from SS. Why not finish it, and let us see the final? That may help us.:D
