To be clear, I’ve chosen neither side as I canceled the order. When I bring up this Mr mom guy, I agree with his issues, I’m not interested in anything between the two sides any further. I’m not in the FB group so I can’t comment on that but this guy isn’t the first to mention those remarks about the place.

All I’m saying, is the product is on video again and it looks dusty. I would’ve been upset but you don’t see me making YT videos about it like that. I’m all set on everything so I have no stake.
I just would prefer JazzInc have eyes on JazzInc products.
Like @Mr. Awesome said my big issue is the way he tackles these things. I dont have the car either. Could other YT reviews be on Joost’s mind for the test batch vehicles to promote the product? Absolutely, but the issue is that there is documented conversation between this guy and Joost where Joost explicitly asked him not to do a review if there were issues in order to prevent panic in the community.

Unfortunately this guy made that video and the panic ensued. It just feels slimy to have someone ask you specifically not to do something and follow your own prerogative instead cause you “know better”.

He and anyone else is absolutely entitled to voice concern and raise issues about the product, but like I said above its the way this guy goes about doing that. This particular situation is irritating as it is not the first thing he has done that has left a distaste, rather it is the latest in a series of poor behavior.

Like I have said in another post: this guy is an absolute tater tot. Have never cared for people that exude a “my word is gospel” bravado.
 
Sink or swim, it is not up to the customer for you to make a decent product. Inart is facing major QC issues as well, are we supposed to hold their hand also?

Instead of JazzInc being upset about the review, just do everything on your part to fix the issue (which it appears he has). The problem with that however, is JazzInc had their chance to wow this Mr Mom guy and shut him up, what’d they do? Sent a dusty Batmobile with warping, someone is responsible for that, someone is responsible for paint defects, take your frustration out on those people, get them out of the workshop pronto, don’t blame your customers for having eyes. Getting upset at a random nobody reviewing a product on YT when at the end of the day, you sent him a product with your name on it that is below satisfactory, that’s the end point here. I can’t trust InArt QC, now I can’t with JazzInc. I barely can with HT, who knows about JND. You own a company, so let people speak their minds and you just release product, if it’s good, people will know.

Hot Toys isn’t out here attempting to clean up their reputation online, they’re just releasing better product now.

Woof, there's a bunch you are unpacking with statements and some of it, you will get agreement from everyone but where you need to give some grace is Joost as a company. Your take is a hot one, and to me you do not seem to have experience with building a business and/or products which is fine. But as the kids say there are levels to this ****. Getting information in context is key.

He (Joost) started here on this very board, customizing Darth Vader and Star Wars figs. He has delivered on great pieces that no one else would touch for over a decade and has built up a fledgling business delivering on things people like.

He has successfully changed the mindset of other companies and offerings to 1/6 collectors with more options and improved quality and has clearly impacted Hot Toys with their jump back into Burton Batman properties. That makes him a disruptor, which is ALWAYS a good thing.

He has now started to grow significantly and crossing the threshold as a legit business in this space, by acquiring a full DC license and is at his largest level with this 89 Batmobile as a mass production piece. That is terribly difficult to do, especially being an international small business with no prior experience in building or major manufacturing of product at scale.

Reality:
He has released a product that is highly desired and the want for perfection is demanded. There are problems BUT he is addressing and delivering customer service more impressive than most places I have delt with. Willing to give refunds if you don't feel good about pre-orders, shipping other units if there are issues for free.

He does have issues with the injection molds and paint, I'm sure he is working with the factory to address what he can. If you don't like it see first reality check for a refund.

He trusted the factory would deliver flawless units; I am sure he did some level of inspection but there are issues. He will eat that and learn from it. If he is shipping 1,000 units and 20 or 2% as he himself states of them are defects and that may be well within his acceptable defect rate for what he is happy with.

He has some tolerance on expecting issues and sounds like the defects are on the low end for him. If you don't like it see first reality check for a refund.

He tried to engage outwardly to more community and people that don't know the story think he is a major business and been going for 30 years. Most of the influencers are not in it for the hobby, they are in for clicks. Got the product ran down, he will learn from this as well and be better for it.

This is a board that has many greybacks and have seen a lot in this hobby come and go. It has grown and is offering better than ever items, but its grown also to the point where it can breed and has bred bad actors and alternate revenue motivations made from it than just collecting and community. This fundamentally is something that the old, current and future collectors will have to experience and decide to upvote, click, subscribe, or ignore and watch on mute. But as long as there are Joosts, Inarts and whomever that try to disrupt, we as collectors win, which again is a good thing.

Be kinder, give some grace.

I can’t use my money to be kinder, I canceled my PO. All I mentioned in my closing was that I have hope he figures his QC out, but unfortunately I had to hop off.

You've waffled super hard on this for sometime. I figured you'd drop out in the end.

Good eye, if you see you won't be happy. That's a good chunk of money for this car. Nope right out.

To be honest I remember him asking in the 1966 batmobile if hot toys would ever release it back in 2014. They never did but he managed to straight up produce his own toy line which is an impressive feat.

However, I became of Hot Toys with the highly sought after of Vito Corleone, after wards I've been hooked ever since, but they have gotten comfortable with Disney properties like Star Wars and Marvel that Dc's always been stagnant.

But to be honest even in Hot toys videos or forums across the internet all I see is talk of Jaz zinc this and Jazz Inc that and it's been great having seen him grow from the beginning to extremely popular. Hell, now we got brand Loyals that will pay double or more for a bat mobiles by jazzinc than actual hot toys. But to be honest, even while watching random YouTube videos, even once in a while YouTube will recommend me an Adam savage video of him admiring Jazzinc's batmobile.

My only advice for Joost if he ever sees is, is to attend Warner Brother Studios Batman events or ask if he could tour the Warehouses so he could inspect them and take pictures in person to get better accuracy IMHO.

I never knew the Batman and Robin batmobile in person has a mirror glossy black finish, I always thought it was a semi-gloss finish, but it's stuff like that regular toy companies just don't get right. i.e. Macfarlane, etc.

I'm always late to the party but it's even bad when I can't pre order anything because it's already sold out lol. Whoopsies.

In all reality, I don't know if you guys noticed but QC is a major issue in all the brands of toys I currently collect, big or small. Which is exactly why I try to stick with amazon, target, sideshow, bbts anything but local auctions because I will always get my problems taken care of or swapped out if need be.

This year alone I went through three MPM-15 Brawls because for one, one mas missing the accessories, and the second had issues with the paint and a section that broke off, now toy retailers will laugh in the face of collectors by minimizing their shipping and literally sending you toys with their original box and slap shipping labels. the whole industry as a whole has taken a nosedive. Quite frankly if I want a perfect figure, It will need to be sold locally, literally, online shopping sucks now.

At least Jazzinc does exchanges. Bandai Premium figures sold from their website are "final" sale with no refunds or exchanges.

I have to agree with you. I believe the course of action Mr. Mom took was not correct and from his video he almost seemed offended and mad that he had to write in silver paint rejected on all sides of the box and the vehicle it self. Almost as if his plan was to try to sell one of them on eBay so he essentially gets the car for free and now he’s no longer able to do that and I think that is one of the leading factors to him being so upset, however, that is just my opinion.

In that very video you had a screenshot convo between you and Joost where he clearly asked not to make a video if there were issues on the original test batch car, but you went ahead and did it anyway. Another swing and a miss, strike two.

Here you are now doubling down on this forum calling people part of a cult when they point out the above. Another swing and a miss, strike three.

You don't tell it like it is. You're not a bastion of impartiality. You are just like the rest of us, but decide to take some of your jaded thoughts and commit to filming them and uploading to YT. You don't have to like the car, hell I don't even have one personally, but I don't have to in order to see that you are just trying to carve out a name for yourself in the toy space online since you aren't part of the Cool Kids Club of YT'ers that get stuff for free/heavily discounted.

Please continue to make videos that alienate your peers. Wish you all the best.

1. The fat ***** reviewed a test sample when told not to - a test sample is fk'n test sample.
2. Instead of contacting the company when there are issues like a normal person, he criticises other YTer's use of content and superchat for monetary gain when he's the one putting out a controversial vid trying to get clicks and views.

That's my guess too - he spent so long detailing what he had to do to make the model unsaleable that you have to question why, why would he be so mad at being asked to mark it up as a reject? Some companies insist on getting the original product back before sending out a replacement, whereas Jazzinc just sent a replacement out, and I don't get the time spent on the video and the angst unless it was because the realisation dawned that he couldn't sell it on. The guy's making himself out to be a paragon of Truth and Integrity and Standing Up To The Man - but it's all BS.
 
I personally feel let down by Jazzinc. The fact that they said the can't fix the dents is a problem for me. My panels won't sit flush, that bothers me more that the dust. I feel like I got sold a false goods, but sometimes you have to learn the hardest lessons in life. Will be selling this car to try and get some of my money back.

If you contact me I will give you a full refund if sending out new cover panels won't fix this. No need for this
 
I understand that frustrations can happen, but I’m curious why the original poster didn’t reach out to JazzInc directly before joining this forum just to share their disappointment here—especially since Joost has consistently emphasized that he’ll do whatever he can to resolve any issues.

I was fortunate enough to have my waitlist converted just the other week, but I’ll admit that the excitement for this car is slowly turning into anxiousness each time I visit this thread. It’s unfortunate that the conversation has taken such a negative turn, particularly when I’ve seen some absolutely stunning photos of the car on Facebook.

I've been contacted by several people who told me that this is actually part of a campaign organised by a competitor. I didn't believe it at first but I am beginning to wonder. Since there is nothing to gain from this behaviour except to increase traffic and clicks and to put me in a bad light.
Anyway. So far we have had two people who could not fit their gun covers. The counter of delivered vehicles is over 200. Mr Mom was one of those two. And we would be willing to fix it if that was the case. I watched a video yesterday where a repair tech explained that even on high end Swiss watches there were 3-5% QC issues from pieces received from the factory, so why I am held to a higher standard while I am willing to fix any issues including a full refund, I dont know.

It’s disheartening to hear about the possibility of a competitor-organized campaign, which I’m inclined to agree with, and I can completely understand how frustrating that must be.

As for my own anxiousness, it’s more about the general tone of some discussions here rather than any lack of confidence in your team. Your proactive approach to addressing concerns definitely helps put my mind at ease. I’m still very excited about my car and confident the final product will be well worth the wait—especially after seeing all the great pics from other happy owners online.

Thankfully, I still have some time before I finish paying it off, which gives me plenty of time to come up with an excuse to tell my wife why we now have two Batmobiles—one of which is even bigger than the Hot Toys version I currently own! 😊
