I just had a quick play around in Photoshop because I was curious to see how my custom Raiders of the Lost Ark parts will look on the JND statue.
Man, this just goes to show how horribly they set him up. The gun belt buckle not even visible, holster so far to the side, shirt tucked weirdly and poorly, pants pulling around the waist and not sitting naturally, hat just thrown on randomly...I just had a quick play around in Photoshop because I was curious to see how my custom Raiders of the Lost Ark parts will look on the JND statue.
Did you preorder it? If you did then were you happy with the prototyp?. If you were not then sadly in this hobby it is a risk to pre-order an item in the hope of it improving.I won't be satisfied until they can give us this! Do you think I should lower my expectations? LOL.

I totally admire your dedication and enthusiasm to get JND to make alterations to the tailoring and improvements to the sculpt.I did pre-order it and already purchased many custom parts to turn it into a Raiders Indy. I had direct contact with Daniel Na at JND Studios and shipped him some accurate colored pants fabric which he gave to the art director for the project who thanked me for shipping it out to them. They told me a few times that it was still being worked on to make it better. What annoyed me about what we saw in the photos from Shanghai Wonderfest was that it definitely looked like a step backwards. Pants cut, fit and color being the biggest disappointment.
I posted this message on the Indiana Jones reveal video on James Park's youtube channel:
"Hello James. What has happened to the Indiana Jones statue? It looks VERY bad in the Shanghai Wonderfest photos I'm seeing today. I shipped the correct colour of pants fabric to Daniel Na who passed it on to the art director who was supposed to be making the production version more accurate. The colour of the pants fabric and the fit of them look very inaccurate. The pants should be more loose and wide all the way down the legs. The hat has a very inaccurate shape and the face is too thin on Indiana - Harrison looked a lot healthier and suntanned in 1989's Last Crusade movie! His eyebrow expression looks goofy and it really has a negative impact on the overall likeness. This statue is supposed to be Last Crusade, but the portrait has got the eyebrow expression seen on the Temple of Doom poster. I sent many constructive criticism comments to JND to try and help highlight where changes could really improve the statue because with the skill of the artists at JND, it should have been much better than what has been presented at Shanghai Wonderfest".
I doubt I'll get a response. It's annoying because I sent the same fabric to Arnie Kim a few years ago when I was working closely with him to help with the accuracy of his 1/4 scale Indiana Jones. He managed to get a VERY close matching fabric for the pants so I'm sure JND could source it too. Here's Arnie Kim's.Be interested to see what, if any response you get here.

Yes, it's the 1/4 scale. I spent many, many hours helping him out with it, not to mention sending him the pieces of accurate colored fabric for the pants, shirt and jacket. After he got to a point where he was happy with the accuracy of all his pieces and no longer needed any input from me, he didn't offer me a penny off the purchase price of $5,000, so I came away from all of that effort without actually owning one of his statues. It still annoys me that he went around telling people that HE contacted the original costume companies to get the fabric samples. That's complete BS. I got the pants and shirt fabric from Noel Howard (who was the production manager at Bermans and Nathans costume company for the Indy movies) and the jacket swatch came from Peter Botwright at Wested Leather who were sub-contracted out by Noel Howard to make the original Raiders and Last Crusade jackets. Both gents have sadly now passed away since then. Noel Howard was an absolute pleasure to know and interestingly, there's a Chris Reeve Superman connection here too because Noel was the man who suggested to Yvonne Blake (Superman costume designer) that they use the new fabric he'd sourced for Reeve's costume. They also used the exact same Superman costume fabric a few years later (in Black) for Stallone's Judge Dredd costume. Is that the 1/4 scale you're talking about? If so, can you put up a full-length shot... looks amazing!
What an insane story, and what a **** move by Arnie Kim. What a bum.Yes, it's the 1/4 scale. This just goes to show how off the pants color is and the fedora sculpt. Just changing those alone would be massive (and easy) improvements to this piece.I won't be satisfied until they can give us this! Do you think I should lower my expectations? LOL.
