I mean, are your kids 13-17 years old? Because most parents don't come with their kids at that age. -=Have you ever seen a theater filled with only teens? It's quite a horrible, awful site.
Ever seen one OVERFILLED with teenagers? Where people have to sit in the isles, and stairs. ____ing horrible.

Celtic,

I don't mean to be rude but you have the outlook and attitude of a person your age. You have all the answers and you know how things actually are. We're all like that a bit at your age then we grow up and realize how wrong we were. You will understand in 10 years when you're 30.

I've never seen that happen. Not here in Kansas or in SoCal.

No way a theater would let patrons sit in the aisles or on the stairways.

If I ever did see that I'd make one quick call to the Fire Marshall and that theater would be cleared on a heartbeat.

Yeah, never seen that at all. I'd be doing the same if I saw that happen.

You're not being rude. But i'm not saying I have all the answers, maybe my event was isolated...but I did see the things I saw.

A theater filled with teenagers. Talking, texting, not watching the movie, just so they had something to do on a Friday night.

So my point was, and it still is, the films have to appeal to kids, because that's who brings in the most money. I know logically, they don't bring in any money...but they are the ones who physically go see the film.

That's what i'm saying. It's declining now, but that's because everything is a reboot or remake of something that didn't exist in their lifetime.

Like John Carter. But The Hunger Games and Twilight did exist in their life time. They will eat that up 20 times over.

Oh, it happened. I mean, I don't have proof...but that did happen. :lol.

Our's call it a sell out when it's 3/4 full. If anyone else comes in, they have the choice of staying or catching another show. It's been awhile since I've seen that even. No way would they sit people in the aisles.

Anyway... finally got a chance to see this today!
What an awesome movie!! Seriously!! WTH is wrong with critics and public? I know Disney dropped the ball marketing this movie, but come on!! This movie was great!! It's the epitome of what an enjoyable time you can have at the cinema is... yeah it has it's flaws, but for the most part succeeds in creating a world and suck you into the adventure...

I don't know, maybe fun movies is a dying art? :dunno...
I really enjoyed it a lot...
Great movie!!
:rock!

Most of the kids sneaked in anyway. That was the norm back then.

But it's not about fun any more. It's about franchises, and what kids know about.

Please, prove me wrong. :D

Because I looked, and every movie that was in the top 10 of any given year from 2007-2011, was a franchise, based on, adaptation ect..

Agreed! :hi5:

They should've just focused on making a good movie, with a smaller budget. Keep it high enough to make it "epic" but low enough to turn a profit. Maybe around 90 million. I didn't need to be so high.

And then, the worst that would've happened, was the film would've done OK. And then done better on the home market.

Critics are pretentious megalomaniacs and the general public is just plain stupid.

Some of us still go to have fun. :rock :yess:

...and yes this movie was a great and fun one to see! :rock

I had no intentions of seeing this movie but after skimming through this thread I'm going to go tomorrow afternoon. Sounds great!

I don't understand why it was that high. I have to wonder if Disney didn't rob Peter to pay Paul, if you know what I mean. It's done all the time in other businesses, I'm sure they do it in the movie business too.

I have went on every single movie review site that I can think of and gave it a good review. I suggest everyone else do this as well. I'm trying to get the word out. :lol
