I'm afraid I didn't get much out of this episode aside from the gratuitous shot of Dushku's rock hard abs. There were a couple of decent plot twists in there but the whole story with the pop star was so tedious it made me somewhat apathetic to them. There are some occasional flashes of that old Whedon magic in these episodes, the problem is that the storylines they're tied to are so freaking dull. I really wish I was enjoying this show because I've missed my Whedon fix since Angel got canned, but nothing about it is drawing me in.

Ugh. The whole pop diva story was so cringe inducing. I liked parts of this episode, but overall it didn't do much for me.

Really? They did more with the story than I thought they would do. They can't go too fast with the Alpha thing. But I'm very curious about the thing at the end with Echo and Sierra, it seems she's acting the part now.

It wasn't a matter of moving too slow, I just didn't like the main story line. It always bothers me when a show tries to do a rock or pop star character. It usually looks and sounds so bad to me. This was no exception. I really hated it when Life on Mars did it a few weeks ago.

I did like the Lubov reveal. And I'm wondering what's up with Ballard's neighbor. There has to be more to it than her just having a crush on him. I also want to know why they sent Sierra in. Wasn't she supposed to be there as backup? All she was was a ditzy fan who ends up as a victim. Did I miss something?

ARGGGGGHHHH! I either hate Fox or Time Warner Cable! The entire last act of the show lost the dialogue track. This happens all the time with Time Warner - if I'm watching live I can just change over to the SD broadcast, but if it's Tivo'd I'm stuck with the quiet HD. And it's not just mute - I have all the sound effects and music - just no dialogue.

I would agree that the the Diva story line was a bit tedious - but it was directly part of the theme of the show - a public figure who can never be herself - she's only what everyone wants her to be. I know I missed a lot - I'm going to have to download the show for the last act - but I do like how each show advances the mythology.

This was a really boring & disappointing episode for me. I had hoped it would get better but it didn't.

The story was too MTVish for me. :monkey4:monkey4:monkey4

My GF was so bored she fell asleep on the couch...which had me thinking naughty thoughts :naughty

You and I both. Because I thought Sierra was there for something more also. But, she never did anything but be a victim. So who knows!
Lubov is awesome, no matter what his deal is.

And I was bored to tears that I just didn't know what to do with myself. Stupid pop star stuff. I don't care about alpha and all that right now. What I care about is entertainment, and that wasn't it. Next week's episode though, "Now that's entertainment!"

:)

*edit* All I know is that there was tooooo much of Rayna or whatever her name was. I was so bored I didn't know what to do with myself. Upside? No sex. Wahoo! Who'd of ever thought that would be an upside? Anyways. Again, I'm really interested in the exchange between Sierra and Echo at the end. I believe that only Echo has a true memory of things but Sierra is feeling a connection. Just don't know what that means yet! It would be really cool if like, Lubov (victor) Sierra, and Echo all started having a memory and then in turn went to take down the dollhouse with ballard, blah! But it'd have to be like Wolfram and Hart style tho. Where they are impossible to touch, even from the inside.

Sooo, yeah, those are my thoughts for now.

Victor & Ballard are the only good part of the show other than the half naked chicks all the time.

WTF??!! Where the hell is my good old fashioned Joss??!! I highly doubt this will make it past this season if it even makes it that far.

Edit: Ok, what was up with Echo and Sierra at the very end of the show?? The little head shake between the 2 of them??

Echo is retaining her memories, and now, we are led to believe that Sierra is as well.

I, for one, enjoy this show! :rock :rock :rock I love the fact that Joss and Eliza are back.

Thanks for that link!

Here an interesting quote from Eliza herself:

"I understand it from a business perspective, and from Fox’s view, but at the same time we’ve now done 13 episodes, and people have said that the show took off once they finally realized that Joss is best off left alone to do his thing. That happens around episode six — six through 13 are just extraordinary. I love one, two, three, four, and five, but Joss’ first script that he did after the pilot is number six ... and it is just unbelievable. From that point on, the world unfolds in Joss’ way, with Joss’ speed, and it’s really remarkable."

Well Fox hasn't killed Sarah Connor yet so perhaps there's a chance that Dollhouse will get to episode 6.

So now I've heard the dialogue from the last act of this episode - it's interesting that they are justifying Echo going outside parameters as a good thing. Usually in a Joss show you'd expect a much slower pace with the mythology stuff - so I'm betting that's what Eliza's talking about - they wrap up Alpha in episode 5 and then start a more Joss-like pace.

Anyone think that Helo's infatuated neighbor is an active?
