Re: Jurassic Park Collectible Thread (JP, TLW:JP, JPIII, JW)

Out of the two Indoraptors shown, I think I like the one coming out this spring. I'm not digging the articulation from the shoulders on up being entirely controlled by the tail on the Deluxe. It's a great play feature, but for static posing and display purposes I don't think it'll be much of a benefit.

Pretty much my thoughts as well. Both look nice IMO but I'd much prefer to have a fully-posable version rather than one where most of the articulation is part of a play feature.

Fully assembled pic of the Anatomy Rex. Looks quite fabulous.

Looks sharp in a promo image, but based on past experience with toys of that nature, I question if the actual in hand toy will hide the fact he comes apart as well as this photo does.

What would also be interesting to see is her size, the 3 foot Rex is $55, this one is $50, while 3 foot could be too big for some, unless you like the anatomy feature, seems like the better figure is the 3 footer.

Definitely buying it. She going to eat my daughter’s shopkins collection for sure.

Re: Jurassic Park Collectible Thread (JP, TLW:JP, JPIII, JW)

Even with these pictures, the size is still hard to believe, I have an 18" King Kong on my desk and I keep thinking, the Rex will be double that size in length, probably close to double the size of the old red Rex from JP1.

As much as I love this, my initial worry – that its lower row of teeth are too short and uniform – grows with every new picture released. Wonder why they messed something so basic up when it's so good on almost all other fronts?

It is a prototype and actually didn’t make it on the main floor display at Toy Fair, so maybe they’re still working on. Then again, it’s 3 feet long and only $55, it won’t be perfect.

Someone on instagram has gotten their hands on the colossal Rex early.

One image I find particularly interesting is this size comparison to the juvenile Rex from JP 1.

This Rex is going to retail for $40, the colossal at $55, this is nearly half the size but not half the cost, which seems curious.

Yeah, I tried to post those but didn't want to step on that guy's toes. I'm thinking it'll be kind of like that giant Kong at Wal-Mart. Not a bad figure, but maybe not as cool and up to the quality level of the rubber skin T-Rex from Kenner.

Re: Jurassic Park Collectible Thread (JP, TLW:JP, JPIII, JW)

Well I have Kong and I’m getting colossal Rex for the same reason, there’s a nice sculpt there, and with repaint, it’s a very inexpensive way to have a large representation of a favorite creature. If paint were the only shortcoming of JAKKS Godzilla, I’d have gotten him too.

While I’m sure colossal is mainly aimed at collectors, it has a trap door on the underbelly to let figures out and can swallow them, so there is a play factor for kids too.

I'll most likely want to buy everything. Standouts include the new Baryonyx, Carnotaurus, and Stegosaurus from memory of the Toyfair pics. I'll definitely be in for the Colossal T-Rex as well. My only real complaint is that I wish the human figures were a little bigger, maybe closer to the scale of the original Kenner JP and TLW lines instead of the smaller scaled JPIII line's humans.

I'm a little worried that the recent events with Toys R Us might affect the success of the line. I'd imagine they would have most likely devoted the most retail shelf space to the line and there is a lot of product coming. Then again, I read somewhere that the Jurassic Park classic line is going to be Target exclusive, so maybe Target will push the line quite a lot.

And... I'm broke

Looks like arm and legs aren't painted at all? I don't know if it's supposed to be that way or not.

Looks fine to me. They're the parts that are closest to the flash so I think they're looking washed out a bit.

I always wanted the bull T-rex from Lost World due to that. That's the big motivation as to why I'm getting this one.

Wait...that's real? BOUGHT!!

I feel like there should be some paint on the claws at least. It looks like entirely bare plastic to me.
