Re: Jurassic World

the thought of raptors getting domesticated-ish...

by temple run dude. :pow

Not sure I'd say domesticated. He has a bond with them which makes them 'stay' and 'wait' and 'look' but you constantly feel like he is in danger and they could decide to turn on him at any time. In fact, when he saves the guy at the start after he falls in the cage, the raptors do attack Pratt when he jumps through the door.
I was really worried about the whole raptor idea but they sold it very well and made it believable.

It seems this is a bit of a marmite film at the moment. I thought it was utterly fantastic - the visuals, the score, the story, the acting from the children was even ok - especially the little one. I thought that Dallas Bryce Howard was excellent as a business woman, ignorant to the danger she was actually in charge of it. Pratt was excellent. There was some great humour. I liked the man and woman in the control room - kinda reminded me of CTU.

Best part -
the death of the English woman. That was just brutal.

Re: Jurassic World

Saw it today and surprisingly I really enjoyed it. The trailers and TV spots looked horrible to me so I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did, the movie was pure entertainment. It's my second favorite of the series.

Re: Jurassic World

Not sure I'd say domesticated.

Anyone who saw the movie knows they weren't domesticated. They clearly did as they pleased.

The "death" that everyone keeps talking about was a defining moment for the film. It was an actual "horror" moment that hasn't existed in these movies until now. It made the rest of the film that much more tense because it drove home that chaos really had broken free and you didn't really know how far things might go at any given moment from that point on.

That finale though.

They brought all FOUR of the film's A-list species into that final battle. Indominous, T-Rex, Raptor, and Mososarus.

No blowing a whistle, raptors run away, end credits crap. They went all out. Finally.

Re: Jurassic World

I'm confused. Pretty much everyone pre determined that this film was going to be terrible. How can people be enjoying it?

Re: Jurassic World

coz it was the ladies turn to pick the movie, it was either this or wait for magic mike. :lol

Re: Jurassic World

Or it's simply a fun, enjoyable summer popcorn flick. I don't think anyone expected The Godfather.

Nah bro ....it's cuz it's summer and people like to have fun during summer and this was a great summer movie.

It's dinosaurs. How long has it been since people seen dinosaurs? Of course people are gonna love the **** out of it. Think transformers but without the stupid bay **** and you have a fun ride

Also it's blowing expectations out the water with the money it's making. Guess people missed the park.

Re: Jurassic World

So who thinks that any sequels

Will revolve around the original premise of Jurassic World with dinosaurs being trained as living weapons and equipped with lasers and rockets and humans riding them?

Re: Jurassic World

It's a been a while I had this feeling, but honestly in the beginning when they are showing you the park and the little kid is so excited about everything, I felt like a kid again. It was a pretty cool feeling.

I keep hearing that people thought the characters outside of Pratt weren't great, but I didn't have a problem with any of the characters except maybe D'onofrio's. I love D'onofrio, but his character seemed a bit too cliche in this. I really liked Irrfan Khan and liked Bryce Dallas Howard's character development, although that was Hollywood.

Pratt's subtle smile when he's riding with the Raptors was effin awesome.

I felt that his unlikeablility helped to sell his character.

Re: Jurassic World

So you didn't kick their asses out? Are you kidding me? That's the whole point of reserved.

That part of your story to me is pants and pissed me off.

2 of my friends almost did although it was a family with kids so I wasn't gonna go there. Apparently someone else was in their seats so they were told to take ours. The mother went out and got a staff member who told us ''tough ***t'' basically because we were late.
