And the irony of Whedons feminist critique on JW makes it all the more enjoyable :lol

Bryce was a way stronger character than ScarJo in Avengers 2 (damsel in distress, love story for sake of a plot device)

Hell, her key scene was one of the most bad ass scenes in the film IMO

When she got the T Rex to come out

But has a terminator movie ever come close to a box office record of any kind?

Someone rock this boy's cradle.

Terminator did very well for a $6 million dollar B-movie back in its day when making 6x your cost was considered a hit.

Terminator 2 was a monster hit, and the number 1 movie of 1991 (biggest movie of any year is a boxoffice record).

We wouldn't have a continuing series of crap films if the first two weren't GREAT and successful!

No one in this forum ever thought in a million years that Jurassic ****ing World would be taking the box office record away from Avengers.

I love this thread :lol

T3, it has Arnold. Plus I REALLY "hate" Tea Leoni.

JP3 made me hate Tea Leoni as a person not just a character. I guess that's good acting though. Maybe too good :lol

:lol someone already rocked my "cradle". I truly wasn't asking in a, "beat my chest my mooveez better den yourz" kind of way. I promise.

I didn't follow box office numbers until the internet came about only read newspapers for the funnies :lol and my question wasn't so much about if a Terminator film did well. More so did it do bucko gangbuster billions that made studio execs crap money out their eyeballs. But I have been learned

Yeah I thought JW would be a good moneymaker..just good.
I think Fury Road a far superior movie but JW is kid/adult crowd pleasing popcorn movie.

I'm tellin ya Disney is squirming right now...trust me

Took the family to see this today. We all loved it. It greatly exceeded my expectations! I will probably go see it again in the next week or so. It was just really enjoyable to us from start to finish.

To me the whole adjusting for inflation doesn't really mean anything because there are too many factors to consider. When Gone with the Wind was released, there weren't as many films in theaters, no internet, no television, cable, video games. Films didn't leave the theater in a couple of months either. Even back in 1977 when Star Was came out, there was nothing else that year, but now, the competition is insane.

Also fewer theaters.... smaller population to draw from... and yet...

Incidently, 1939 saw many of the greatest films ever made coming out that same year (competition). And the studioes cranked out a lot more movies back then.

Such a weird era :lol If you didn't see a film in theaters...you would never see it again :horror

I used to think you were older than 12.

That said, I do believe the lack of immediate blu ray did help repeat viewing and thus boxoffice... back in olden times.

Actually, more films are made today than ever before. In 1939 over 350 films were released, and in 2010, over 700 films ware rated and over 550 films were released. I grew up in the 80's, and we got a VHS in the late 80's. We only had like 3 films on VHS though... :lol
