I can't remember any lines from JW.

"Runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!"

That's it.

Oh, and when Claire ties her top in a knot. "I'm ready."

I think there were quite a few memorable lines in JW but they haven't imprinted on everyone after only one or two viewings.

Lots of big laughs from my crowds for:

"I was with the Navy not the Navajo!"

"What do you think is going to happen with you just staring at them??"

"Will you just be a man and do something for once?" "Why'd you have to make it personal..."

And so on. Not nearly as many as JP though.

I think after this movie though it will be too late to see the desired Trike vs Rex fight as we seem to be going down the human race vs dinosaurs path. Or human race + cybernetic raptors vs dinosaurs path...or human race + cybernetic dinosaurs vs mutant/hybrid dinosaurs path. No time for simple dinosaur quarrels anymore.

To me the whole adjusting for inflation doesn't really mean anything because there are too many factors to consider. When Gone with the Wind was released, there weren't as many films in theaters, no internet, no television, cable, video games. Films didn't leave the theater in a couple of months either. Even back in 1977 when Star Was came out, there was nothing else that year, but now, the competition is insane.
Then no one should compare movie of different eras at all. Saying that this or that movie grossed the most money of any movie ever made is simply meaningless without some context. Inflation is an imperfect metric, but it's the best we have access to. Fact of the matter is, Gone with the Wind sold more tickets than any other movie.

The music swelling as the nerd moves toward the girl who then says "wait, I have a boyfriend"... got the biggest laugh in my theater.

He was really funny, but felt like he was planted into the movie for just that purpose.

I always said that the main problem with Jaws was that it didn't have enough dinosaurs, and a guy trying to start up a park with dinosaurs and, uh, Jaws. And not enough Jeff Goldblum. Sure enough, the stars aligned and gave me the sequel that I insisted on years later.

BTW, I still haven't seen this new Jurassic Park, and probably won't until it's on DVD, but I will be seeing Jaws in the theater in a couple of weeks :rock And I won't be seeing Genysys, but will see the Terminator on Wednesday :rock

**** ****ty sequels, IMO.

I'm seeing Back to the Future in theaters next week for the anniversary.

May not be exact quote:

'People would say they could see the fleas, ''oh mummy can't you see the fleas'', clown fleas and high-wire fleas and fleas on parade....but with this place..I wanted to give them something that wasn't an illusion, something that was real; something they could reach out and touch..and, in the end, not devoid of merit'

Ellie has a line that I've forgotten

''you're right, you're absolutely right. Hiring Nedry was a mistake, we're over-dependant on automation, I can see that now. But everything's correctable. Next time it'll be flawless. Creation is an act of sheer will''

Melancholy scene with Hammond and Ellie in a big empty dining room surrounded by Jurassic Park merchandise and some nice John Williams piano scoring. I'm curious how much of that I got right^ :lol

Versus masterful JW dialogue

"We should probably stick together. For survival"

Cue JP melodica theme.

There's three moments in JP that have always bugged me and taken me out of the movie.

1. The mouthy kid at the digging site. Doesn't come off as genuine at all. Feels so contrived to me, the kid is just planted there with dialogue I just don't buy that he'd say, it's this big confrontational scene with the people cheesily parting to reveal the kid, I just think it's dumb. I don't even buy that Gran't offhand comments about the Raptors vertebrae being like a bird or whatever would illicit laughter. The whole thing is just so forced.

2. The freaking flashlight. Good grief. Who would DO that? A T-Rex has his back turned to you so you go out of your way to activate a massive beacon that leads it right to you? Beyond bizarre.

3. The conversation between Hammond and Ellie that a-dev already mentioned. Right from the beginning. The way she's standing there watching Hammond as the camera pans, then right when it stops she moves. Just *feels* like I'm watching Spielberg go, "and camera pan...stop, and ACTION!" Always takes me out of the moment and then it's just another massively forced conversation that neither actor seems to feel comfortable with.

For all of its "cheesiness" or "absurdity" or whatever you want to say is in JW it still had not a single scene that took me out of the movie like those three in JP.
