I wonder how Grant and Malcolm felt when, after both visiting the islands twice and having near death experiences, Jurassic World opens and becomes a success. I could see them both being pretty disgruntled about it.

Bet when the world caught wind that Jurassic World fell apart, they were both feeling quite haughty. I'm still pissed that Wu got off the island scratch free, AGAIN. I've wanted to see him die since the first one. In fact, in a perfect world, Mr. Arnold would have left for the ship and Dr. Wu would have stayed in his place.

Don't get me wrong, I still liked it, even with those "problems". The dying brachiosaurus was really touching for me. Those quieter, smaller movements were much better than the dinos teaming together to stop iRex. Also, I've liked every Jurassic Park movie that's been made. I don't think it's possible to mess them up because the concept is appealing.

Still, there was a ton of undeniable goofy **** in it and I must, MUST put a damper on the excitement for two of some of my favorite albeit Hobbit loving bros that happen to be a little too *ahem* overenthusiastic in this thread.

I can't wait for BOFA EE. :lol

Yep, you can't think your way through this one you've just got to feel it. :lol

Yup. :lol

Yea, I mean there were plenty of goofy elements that we wouldn't imagine could really happen if the JW was a real theme park, but I still enjoyed it and thought it was just as good as the first 3. I think you can only go in so many directions with dinosaurs and I think the first 3 explored most of the territories already.

I think out of the 4 movies, this was the most entertaining, but also the least realistic of them, so one thing makes up for the other with me. Considering how great these dinosaurs have all looked in these films (even though this one has the most CGI), I think this movie did so much better than I thought it would when it was first announced.

I never thought of Bryce as a hottie until this movie.

She's no Phoebe Cates in Paradise/Fast Times or Terminator Genysis babe, but she looked alright in those heels.

He got eaten by Raptors in the novel.

I don't think the Game of thrones dragon girl looks that hot in Terminator Genisys. She looks like a potato. She's much more attractive outside the movie in other stuff.

I think shes really hot, but her personality in this film was a huge turn off for me lol. I have a cute red head neighbor two doors down from me that reminds me of her to a tee.

I thought she was cute as the blind girl in The Village, but I hated that movie.

I thought she was bangin' in Spider-Man 3.

Though in retrospect she would have been a better Mary Jane.

Jurassic World retconned out TLW and JPIII. Nobody mentioned the deaths in San Diego or Hammond's televised speech about the "animals needing isolation from human contact," and so on. Only the events of JP1 and Hammond's dream of "sparing no expense so that families could experience the creatures" were acknowledged.

Woah really? Where did they say this? That sucks if true.

Malcolm's book that was in Lost World and a Spinosaurus skeleton at the visitors center were some easter eggs I noticed.

Maybe Hammond just didn't have a say anymore and despite his statement at the end of TLW other parties wanted to forge on ahead with a new park. I don't see that this film erases II and III but maybe I missed something that directly rules them out?

Well it might be wishful thinking on my part but I interpreted the film to be ignoring the previous two movies the way it seemed to only reference the first and that the park was built on Hammond's dream from the first film and not the second (where he ended up wanting the dinos to live on an isolated island.)

Though I suppose with Spielberg staying on board as a producer for this film it might be a stretch to assume that he would have agreed to retcon out his own sequel. I definitely see them as Part 1 and Part 2 with nothing in between.

Completely forgot she was in that film and yea, she would've been a better MJ. I like her over what's her face from the amazing Spider-Man too.

Oh, they're still canon.

The Lost World & Jurassic Park 3 are still canon - Jurassic World

For a minute there I thought they pulled some BS. I forgot in World how Vincent D'onofrio mentions how ingen cleaned up pterodactyls in Canada, the ones we see migrating at the end of 3 that Grant sees. The park opened up in 2005, 4 years after III. I wonder where they'll go in an inevitable 5th, will that military stuff come to fruition?

The scene where Spidey rescues her when she falls from that skyscraper after a crane plows through it is hilarious. He catches her and then just ****s off! Like as though there wouldn't still be people in danger up there.

Did he actually say that on screen in JW? I don't recall it being mentioned.

Either way I like this second hand quote from Colin Trevorrow from your link above (if true): "In Uproxx's article they directly reference director Colin Trevorrow, who is quoted as saying that his film is a direct sequel to Jurassic Park. He says that the previous sequels aren't being written out of continuity, but placed to the side because they happened on a different island. The events are still canon, but we will not visit Isla Sorna in the film."

Jurassic World is a "direct sequel to Jurassic Park" but...if you want to pretend those "other" movies actually you happened then you can if you want. Works for me.

Yeah, Lost World does happen on another Island that Hammond had set up for studying. Isn't 3's on the same island as Jurassic Park's though? They go through the park, even get the decade old candy out of one of the vending machines.
