JW will beat SW TFA in total boxoffice. I think the next weekend wll show if JW will be able to get near Titanic , Avatar? Well that's tough. JW doesn't have any major competition till Ant Man IMO

Interesting.

I think it's quite possible that JW will out earn TFA. Adjusted for 10 years of inflation Revenge of the Sith would still have only earned $481 million domestic which JW should blow right past. It'll all come down to how good The Force Awakens actually is, IMO.

If it turns out to be good or by some chance great then I think the goodwill of seeing old heroes returning and no competition for three months should really pave the way for TFA to give JW (and possibly even Titanic) a run for its money.

I don't see it being as big as some people expect it too. The fans are all saying it'll be the biggest box office hit ever and non-fans don't seem interested at all. The bulk of it's money is gonna come from repeat viewings from fans but does SW really have that many fans??

I say this not to bait an argument or "flame" fans, just curious if anyone has any solid numbers on the fanbase or interest levels cause I'm not seeing it from anyone but on these boards and comic "news" sites that are 99% fans already of this stuff.

SW and Batman are so huge that they're the only 2 movie properties that make national news on any casting announcement, costume reveals and trailer releases.

Khev, you and I have been officially labeled retards for enjoying JW/AOU. :lol

I told them to leave poor Wor-Gar out of it, he doesn't like AOU, cut him some slack for enjoying JW. :lol

just curious if anyone has any solid numbers on the fanbase ....

Yes. And please quote throughout the internet.

STAR WARS current fan base is 3.2 billion. Hardcore fans make up only 1.1 billion of those fans, the rest consider themselves fans or casual fans. 500,000 of those hard core fans say that they would kill someone to see the new Star Wars movie first. 9,000 of those have already killed someone, either for making 'tard comments or for bashing the EU.

We already knew there was something special about Chris Pratt, the Jurassic World actor who bravely acknowledges the importance of his Christian faith in a culture where doing so can be downright career-limiting — as we shared here.
While his moves in the Jurassic World blockbuster continue to capture the world’s attention, Pratt’s latest move — visiting a children’s hospital over Father’s Day weekend — once again captures our hearts.
Chris Pratt took some time off to visit Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, this weekend, and the kids loved it

The Jurassic World star has been doing the rounds charming everyone with his easy-going personality. His moves in the blockbuster — which has broken all kinds of box office records since opening on June 12 — are the latest rave and zookeepers all over the world are imitating him and his raptor training.
On Father’s Day weekend, Chris Pratt visited the Children’s Hospital to put some much needed smiles on the young patients’ faces. In many instances, all these kids know nothing but pain and suffering due to terrible diseases and the treatments they have to undergo.
On its Facebook page, Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital — the fastest growing pediatric facility in Louisiana — praised Chris Pratt for taking time off from filming to visit the kids and shared some adorable photos of the special time he spent with the children.

In addition to thrilling the kids by recreating the raptor scene from the movie, Pratt also thrilled some very lucky female staff working yesterday.

Chris Pratt showed that despite being a successful movie star he has a big heart.
Our hearts, meanwhile, just got about five sizes bigger for Chris Pratt.
