You know, after seeing the Batman/Superman trailer, the next geek that comes up to me and says "Jurassic World is silly and corny" is gonna get rapped in the mouth.

I don't mind humor in JP. I do mind bad humor and bad writing in general in JP. It's why I didn't like AoU either. I thought that one was honestly worse than the latest spiderman that caught so much flack.

I like people trying to say Dinosaur movies need to have Dinosaurs acting realistc. :lol

Just because JP1 is a superior movie to JW does it mean its any less ridiculous than JW, because it is not.

It's very much less rediculous though. For instance people remembering there are children to be saved. Strong female characters. Good character motivations (the bad guy). No giant glass ball that isn't practical in any way. Nor fast. No giant dinosaur that has predator tech. Cause honestly if you can't spot a t rex with 50 men because it's "camouflaged " there's something wrong with the script.

No annoying children though mostly.

Dinosaurs look better than the new ones in certain scenes.

That's like saying Jurassic Park ends with people being surrounded by velociraptors and we love it. Jurassic Park III ends with people being surrounded by velociraptors and we hate it?

Duh. Yes. :lol One little similarity does not equate to having the same overall quality.

Complete nonsense of course. People were singing the praises of JW on Day 1 before anyone knew if, or how quickly, it would make a billion dollars. Has anyone declared Age or Extinction, Alice in Wonderland, or On Stranger Tides to be "incredible" films? Not that I've ever seen.

In stranger tides was a better movie than JW by quite a margin though.

Wut.......the ending was the 2nd best in a JP movie, possibly equal to the 1st.

It wasn't even ok for you, it flat out sucked? Ummmm, wow.

I don't even know how the ending was good in any way. The whole let's save the humans after all sucked. The cheap indominus rex death sucked.
(Loch Ness taking him down instead of the Rex). The t rex just being like: " later bros. " Instead of trying to eat the raptor or the humans sucked. Pretty sure he could use a snack after that ****.

The whole ending was terrible. The only good parts were the raptor training sequence and....

.................. oh the bit where! Nope.. never mind.

Also honorable mention for the most annoying female character in ages. She was only good for putting a pen is in.

Cheesy but who doesn't love a hero moment?! I think some saw this as Blue saving the T-Rex when in fact people forget that the I-Rex had just killed Blue's whole crew. She wanted revenge!

Yeah I'm not sure that makes it any more believable. Would it really seek 'revenge' or would it more likely go '''**** that for a game of soldiers, I'm out of here''

Van anyone tell me wtf they meant by "we need more teath"?! The weirdest thing ever to say in such a situation.

Yeah I found that silly aswell. I highly doubt anyone would actually suggest releasing another dinosaur in that situation. And if they did they'd phrase it differently. Bit of a nitpick there, better acknowledge it as such.

Glad it didn't beat Titanic. Titanic is a superior film. Yeah I said it.

Yes by far...there, I said it too :lol

Yeah. It's up to the next batch of big films to take down the ship! I hope Star Wars does it. I don't see Civil War doing it too much been there done that. Bats vs Supes could do it if it's not too dark and gritty for kids.

I sure the hell hope it is. I'm quite tired of them catering to all these kids, dumbing everything down, making the movies suck....see Terminator Gen

Don't forget the slow motion raptor coming around the corner like Batman to save the day :lol

This is one of the reasons I wonder how long the shiny chrome love for this movie will last. Think it might fade like with Avatar.

Scene was awesome, loved it.

Disagree, let the Rex have it's moment and let it walk off having been redeemed after JP3. You don't need anything else. A great send off to an iconic movie character.

This is a wild ferocious animal not a cuddly cartoon character. It's not Barney.

The Rex went through a mix of villain/hero phases.

JP1 - trying to eat the kids (he- errr villain)/ eating Gennero (hero)/ chasing jeep (villain)/ eating innocent Gallimimus (villain)/ 'rescuing' Grant & co from Raptors (hero)

JP TLW - recovering the stolen Rex infant (hero)/ coming back and killing Eddie Carr (villain)/ attack on the tents and sleeping hunters/mercs (villain or hero depending on how you feel about the ingen employees)/ eating a dog and some innocents in San Diego (villain)/ encouraging its infant to kill that Ingen head (hero)

JPIII - getting killed (hero)

JW - fighting I-Rex (hero)

JP: How does eating Gennero make him a hero? Guy was a ****, but c'mon. He didn't do anything bad really. I would say the spitter dinosaur is the big hero for taking down the fatman.

JP3: Spots humans tried to eat them is being a hero? Only reason he failed was Spino.

JW: Trying to eat the chick in white on heals but failing at it makes him sort of a villain in my eyes. Kind of like a Stormtrooper trying to shoot R2D2.

You contradict yourself and don't realise it. The Rex didn't have "his moment" at all. Indominus was still in fighting shape before going out like a punk. If anything Rex lost again but the moviemakers fooled you into thinking he won by using Loch Ness. Considering Rex was in poor shape before "having his moment".

Too bad they didn't use the Raptors to their full potential. I was really hoping for some classic horror-esque action from the beasts.

Only good scenes: Raptor training sequence almost goes haywire. And the chick getting killed SO HORRIBLY by the pteradactylus and Loch Ness. I was crinching while watching it.

Honestly I give this film a 4 out of 10. No movie should get away with making such louzy decisions only because "people will see it anyway". (which they will, I am a sucker too officially.)

I was going for popular audience perception of these events, not necessarily my own views in all cases - though I didn't make that clear.

Wow, this thread! :lol The movie is an easy 10/10. Close thread, goodnight! :lecture :wave :D

For those that disliked it, what would you have preferred to see? Like specifically...

I would have liked to see the "sharp" Claire. We're introduced to her memorizing her business contacts/investors, and I loved when she slid the trash can over to Lowery because she knew he was going to drop his drink. She could have been shown more intelligently (like why in the world would you need to drive to the command center to track the I-Rex? Wth are those computers that the guard had access to for then?! Lol).

While a little hammy, I enjoyed Dr. Wu's time on the screen. I thought he was going to be a prominent figure in the movie. Hoping he will be in the next one.
But I think getting more into the genetics side would have been crazy interesting. Wth are those encased spines for?!

I think more development for Owen and Blue could have made a stronger backbone for the "raptor squad" stuff. I thought it was pretty lame how they hyped the audience getting ready to release them, they run (which was a nice sequence), and then.... just sorta find the I-Rex-oh-crap-they-mind-melded-and-we're-done.

Jurassic Park 1.

And I did, afterwards, so, I'm happy :lol

I wouldn't have minded the plot if it was better thought, a better written script, like a lot better written, the actors play their parts right it isn't really their fault their characters have no character at all, CGI is the least of my concerns, I was ok with most of the concepts they brought, like training Raptors, I'm not ok with making the T-Rex a Godzilla type hero, in JP1 it looked like a hero but really wasn't, the part where he looks at blue and then they part ways was so ****ing stupid, they might as well have nodded at each other

JP isn't about lame artificial pseudo cool moments like that.

And I would've liked if they didn't regurgitate stuff from the 1st one like the cynical sarcastic character, the 2 kids, the character who doesn't like kids, or I wouldn't have minded if those characters weren't so poorly recreated and made no sense.

Well, tbh the sarcastic dude from the control center was the only intelligent person around.
