Re: Jurassic World

I just thought of the perfect "big bad" for this film.

A QUEEN ALIEN.

BIRTHED FROM A T-REX.

...WITH WINGS.

DISCUSS.

Re: Jurassic World

They all died within 3 days after not getting their lysine probably. They make no mention of them being alive in The Lost World.

I'm pretty sure Hammond mentions that a storm wiped the place out, he calls it an 'act of god, so to speak' or something to that effect

whilst i don't think he directly states that they are dead, it's in response to Malcolm asking that exact question. Hammond suggests that they are and it was a freak occurance on Site B that they are still alive

To me, they pretty much close the book on it right there, but it wouldn't be difficult to say 'hammond was wrong' and go from there if the orignal island was used

Re: Jurassic World

You know, it still fascinates me that JP holds standards to being the best cgi in over 20 years and ntm it was ILM's first attempt! :lol

Re: Jurassic World

Yeah, the best CGI, except for the jumpy matchmoving, stretching textures, and no fresnel reflections

Oh, and ILM was doing CGI before Jurassic Park, Young Sherlock Holmes was out in 85

Indeed. The CGI was fantastic for its time, but it definitely looks dated now. The scenes in the dark and rain still hold up because that environment lends itself to CGI. I was really hoping that when Jurassic Park was released in 3D the studio would've updated the CGI, but I knew that was pretty unrealistic. I don't want any of the dinosaur designs to be changed, I just wanted more rendering techniques applied to their existing models. Oh well.

That would be fantastic. I was really hoping that was what they were going to do with the 007 Goldeneye Reloaded game, but unfortunately it was just a new game all around really. Just update the graphics, but leave everything else alone! I don't think people would have a problem with that. But I agree, the CGI still holds up remarkably well to this day. I think this was really the last film that really made audiences go "wow!" at a theater. You really believed in dinosaurs after seeing the movie.
