You know When I "think" about Avengers I think about the cheap look the film looks and I sometimes think perhaps its not that good.. The only reason I speak so highly of it is because every time I actually sit to watch it I fully enjoy it 100% Way too many classic great moments... Oh and its probably the only Marvel film with a recognizable Hero theme.

Hmm interesting. I gave away my Avengers blu-ray years ago so it actually is just a movie I think back on unfavorably without revisiting. Sometimes if its on TV while channel surfing I'll switch to it, see the crappy sitcom quality photography and go "bah" and change the channel. So I suppose it's possible that if I were to watch it from beginning to end that I'd be able to appreciate it more but honestly I just don't feel the need. There are too many other films I love that don't annoy me in the ways that Avengers does.

This is a fantastic post...

I agree with the whole "Awesome / Entertaining... Not Awesome / but entertaining thing you are saying..

Accept for putting Escape from LA in Not Awesome but Entertaining.. I would put that in the Not Awesome and not Entertaining section :lol

:lol

That's why I really miss the days of Siskel & Ebert. Siskel was like a majority of the people here and on RT "the narrative was uneven so I give thumbs down, boo!" While Ebert was more like me "the narrative was a mess but the movie was still entertaining, thumbs up!" Ebert loved Escape from LA by the way. ;)

I do understand why a lot of DC and DCEU fans would hate Justice League though. It's all because of "what could have been." I think if Zack and company said from Day 1 "look we're going to try for something different, we want to make a living cartoon" then people would have been braced for that and could have had an easier time embracing that. But to be 80% done making "Justice League - Two Part Fury Road Knightmare Edition" and THEN switch to the living cartoon royally pissed off legions of fans who were chomping at the bit to see the other movie.

We'll see how it's received years from now when the dust settles. I remember being so disgusted with ROTJ and Alien 3 for a time when I thought about "what could have been." But eventually I just accepted that those films were the products of a million different factors and that they just were what they were and I can now appreciate them for the positive aspects that they do contain (moreso ROTJ than A3 obviously.)

When I watched JL I literally just determined that I was watching a soft reboot and really didn't concern myself with all those things we joke about here (no rising dirt, Knightmare battle, Flash going back in time, etc.) I see JL as basically another Batman Forever. It loosely references previous films (same actors playing Alfred and Gordon, Kidman references Catwoman's outfit) but otherwise retells Bruce's origin and basically feels like a completely different universe. I consider JL to be more of a mess than BF (since at least BF knew what it wanted to be from the very beginnig) but at the same time I think that JL is still vastly more entertaining even in spite of its glaring flaws.

Avengers 3D is such an incredible experience I love revisting every few months truly a joy to behold as are Cap1/TWS/CW.

I’m looking forward to my 2nd JL viewing lets see how it makes me feel.

Still have yet to see Avengers in 3D.

I'm looking forward to watching JL again too. I'm going to try and catch the $5.00 showing next Tuesday. The nice thing about it is that (unlike SW) it isn't so sacred that it's shortcomings annoy me. I'm actually looking forward to chuckling at the ridiculous attempt to hide a Mother Box under a couple handfuls of dirt, Queen Hippolyta's Epic Green Screen Spectacular, and Flash's flailing impersonation of a sprinting water lizard.

In addition to all that goofiness Batman has quite a few cool scenes, WW is in costume for pretty much the entire movie, Superman vs. Flash, and all that. It might be a mess but it's a highly watchable mess.

And lol at the "how primitive" line from the guy holding an axe. ;)

Did did did you just just just say you've never seen Avengers in in in 3D on an Imax or even at at at home!

You've never seen seen seen Stark's free fall in 3D!

My eye is twitching Khev.

Avengers remains my favorite midnight show of all time I hope I get to revisit that in my afterlife.

I was out of town on a business trip the weekend Avengers opened so my wife and I caught it the following weekend, no midnight showing for me. And back in 2012 I thought that pretty much all post-converted 3D sucked so I only watched 2D unless it was shot on native 3D cameras (like Prometheus, ASM, and Hobbit: AUJ).

So yeah, no 3D Avengers for me, no 3D IMAX, not even 3D on blu-ray. But that ship has sailed because I no longer care about that movie. :chase
