I think you've really gotta make a compromise. If they just wanted great actors, we would have all these troll looking guys and gals who are working in indie films. Looks matter. It shouldn't be the only factor, but it has to be a major one IMO.

She really might be the only known actress that has the look and screen presence. Unfortunately its in her contact that she is only to be appear in terrible movies for the duration of her career.

One issue there might be that WW wears the U.S. flag all over her. Obviously, she isn't a native of the U.S. (I think she's now supposed to wear that outfit as a means of being a good ambassador to the country that she lives in), but if she was talking in a British accent I think it would be a bit distracting considering that. And Beckinsale is a looker, no doubt, but she doesn't strike me as some great, chameleon-like actress who can effectively change her accent for a role. Maybe I'm wrong and she does an American accent, though.
