Id prolly get Flash, WW and GL. Not sure bout MH or Aquaman

This is an AWESOME PF. Fantastic pics! I don't really mind peeps saying they don't like the piece. It's a fact of life that not everyone will like the same things. However, peeps coming on here calling it a Com and bashing it endlessly does get a little tedious. If the peeps that don't like the piece are lucky, another PF will be released. There really is no need to tear down this PF or say that the peeps that like it aren't being honest with themselves or other members here. That's just a bunch of bunk.

Yes...and you and Bmutha come and defend it at EVERY turn. I saw it as well (Reg, not EX Construct) and was less than impressed. I do admit the pics of the construct look neat and all, but I know I would rarely take the time to turn it on. I still think it was sculpted to have a fabric uniform, then they changed their mind at the last minute, because he is oddly overly muscled. Does have a snappy paint job, but dont think Hal's face is as well done as the others either. To me he looked EXACTLY the same in person as he does in pic's, which makes me scratch my head when people say something is better in person?

I get loving the stuff you have, but we are talking about collectibles here, pieces of art, so some subjectivity/difference of opionion is to be expected. IMO, that is not the GL that will look good in my display with other JL members, so I opted not to purchase, despite it being one of my favorite characters. A rare moment of restraint for me.

I dont think anyone has to worry about the rest of the JL being bigger than Superman or Batman, their stature, capes and the fact that SS have said they will be the alpha dogs in the lineup insures that there wont be issues fitting AQuaman, Flash, GA, etc down the line in whatever case people are using.

Precisely! Subjectivity definitely plays a factor. Some people like to make the argument that this is the ideal GL PF and that it fits seamlessly with the Trinity PF (scale issues being negligible). Others like myself disagree and feel that a better scaled and sculpted GL PF should be made.

Personally, I feel the scale of the Joker PF is closer to what the average male hero should stand at. Size and proportions wise. That's just me of course. All these disagreements on GL usually start with something factual like the obvious smaller size and evolve into something emotional or personal preference like how it is still an awesome piece.

The reason you see me and others defend the piece is because there are peeps here spreading wrong info on the piece. It is not a Com, yet we have members here stating that it is. There is not a chance in hell that this piece is 1/5 scale. The funny thing is that the Deadpool PF is also slightly under 1/4 scale (as evidenced when pics of him next to the new Punisher PF began to appear) and yet no one is running around in the Deadpool thread giggling and saying it's a Com. Wade is taller than Frank by an inch according to Marvel but the DP PF is an inch shorter than the Punisher PF. Now, if someone hates the head sculpt, the pose, or the lack of mixed media on GL that is understandable. Hopefully SSC will release exactly what you and other that passed on the GL PF are looking for. That doesn't make this PF garbage. There are also members here saying we are lying to ourselves and others if we like this piece. Really? After collecting for over the last 10 years, I think I'm smart enough to know what I like and why. You have very valid criticism over why you passed on the piece. You did this without ripping on it or calling the peeps who bought it and love it crazy or liars. There are more than a few statues that SSC released that I could care less for. Some of these statues are even considered grails. I try to state my reasons why I don't like them constructively and move on. There is no need to beat a dead horse or call the members who love a statue crazy because they don't agree with my point of view.

Again, my post is not aimed at you Tbolt. You have always been fair as far as I'm concerned. However, I will disagree with one point you brought up. I don't think a cloth costume was ever in the works for this piece. I know you think his muscles are overly detailed on the piece but there are artists that portrayed Hal with a very shredded physique. One of the very best GL artists did this on a regular basis and I believe that this PF was designed off of his artwork. Ethan van Sciver always illustrated a shredded and muscular Hal. Every time I look at the GL PF I see his influence on the statue. For me, that is a good thing. What it all boils down to is that peeps that love the piece bought it. We are not crazy, settling, or lying to ourselves/others. Since you do like the character so much, I hope a statue of GL gets released that you'll enjoy and you can happily display it in your collection.

I love how everyone tried to justify Green Lantern's 1/4 scale going perfect with Bats and Supes. Now that Bats is out, everyone's changed their minds and are now banging their forks and knives on the table screaming for a true 1/4 Green Lantern PF. So much denial back then, haha!

I don't know how many times I've shared my pics to prove the scale delta between Batman and GL isn't that big. It is grossly exagerated when people insist on posting pics of GL from the front. I guess many lack spatial awareness... GL is leaning considerably which makes him look smaller when viewed head on.

Actually, I went with what I hope turns out to be a kickass custom. Thats how much I like GL and didnt want to wait for SS to deliver one I feel matches up. But I get all your points, and at the end of the day, you are happy with your GL, and thats what counts.

I am not too bothered by the fact that Punisher is correct and he is not, even though I plan to put my X-force variant DP next to Frank. But it is pretty noticeable that they got the scale wrong on DP, while pretty much everone is in agreement that the statue itself rocks. Excellent point my friend.

On to one salient non thread derailing point from me, for my money, I am most curious to see how Aquaman turns out. Pretty sure Flash is in the bag for me, I am not as big a fan of MM, so may pass on him no matter what he looks like, plenty of other JL'ers besides those 7, but Aquaman is one that I am on the fence with. I really hope he is at SDCC14.

Unfortunately, SSC's scale on PFs are all over the place. The best we can do is try and match up statues we like with other PFs that work in our collection. I'm sure no one else but a comics aficionado will notice that DP is supposed to be taller than Punisher. So long as they look good together to you, it'll work in your collection.

Aquaman is the biggest question mark for me. I never really cared for the character but realize his importance to the League. That piece will be have to be a home run for me to pick it up. Like you, I'm fairly certain that Flash will be added to my collection barring a catastrophe. Now when it comes to the Manhunter, that is a piece I really want. For me, he is almost the heart and soul of the team. He kind of reminds me of Cap with the Avengers. Cap is always there. He lead the team with the big guns (Thor, Hulk, Iron Man) and also lead a new team of not so popular characters at one time ( Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, and Quick Silver). Manhunter has the same feel for me. There with Supes, Bats, and WW. Also lead with no names like Vibe, Vixen, and Gypsy. To me he is a JLA fixture and a must have. Whichever JLA members we like, let's hope that they all turn out to be fantastic PFs. That way we can all pick and choose which members of the JLA we will want to add to our collection.

I don't care that people don't like the GL PF. There are plenty of PF's out there that people love and I honestly look at the piece and say to myself, "Really?" The difference is that I simply ignore those pieces and I don't constantly go into those threads to rip on the piece every chance I get.

I have no problem with people voicing their opinions, that's what this forum is for. It's the constant, "GL is 1/5, what a piece of garbage, anyone who likes it is kidding themselves, anyone who buys it is drinking the SS kool-aid" crap that is constantly spewed at seemingly every turn that I can do without.

Hell, I'll even admit that the current GL does not fit well with Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. I'd love to see another GL, in more of a museum style pose, so that I can create an Alex Ross style team lineup on my shelves at home. The fact that I feel that way does not mean that the current GL sucks...quite the opposite. He is going to look amazing with Sinestro, which I am pretty sure was the original design intent.

I think more people need to hunt down your pics. The size difference isn't that big, and people just don't seem to get that.

No, this is not me saying that the GL PF is the holy grail of statues and that he undeniably looks great with the other DC PF's, so stop yourselves from posting that right now. GL is under 1/4, we all know that. But, people seem to forget that Batman is over 1/4, and every single GL statue on the market looks small next to him. I don't believe that this GL was ever meant to be part of the "JLA line"...he and Sinestro seem to be meant to be paired together.

I never cared about Aquaman until the New52 series. I have really enjoyed that series, and it has me excited for an Aquaman PF. I also agree about Martian Manhunter...he will be a must have for my JLA line up.

I'm going to give it a shot. My plan is to build a built-in display cabinet on the wall above my TV in my home theatre room (I have no idea what that will cost) and have the entire JLA line-up spread across it.

Shouldn't be a problem to fit all 7 in there...or 6.5 according to some

I did a quick drawing awhile back using the average PF Size to estimate total width/height/depth of a custom display for the JLA. If everything stays the same you're looking at 28"h 85"w and 18"d that should give you plenty of wiggle room, unless the do some thing massive for one of them

Yes, that's one of my ideas. Or I might get a PAX cabinet. Not sure if Superman will fit a single cube Besta! Batman just made it or the shelf had to be adjusted down almost passing the cube door.
