[King Darkness]

Damn fine season. Still my favorite show. The writting is brilliant, its a drama but its also the funniest show on TV. Raylan is a great character, best TV cop since Vic Mackey. Love the banter between Raylan and Art.

I love the short seasons. It makes for a faster pace with fewer filler episodes. Can't wait for next season.

We saw Quarles bleeding out - but I don't think they mentioned he was dead. Would be interesting to see him escape from prison next season and instead of the Taxi Driver gun rig he just imbeds a shotgun in his stump ala Planet Terror.

How do we know that he lost his arm? It seemed like a pretty clean cut, and I don't think Raylan waited until it was done for to make the call.

Well, knowing Raylan I'd imagine he'd arrange for the arm to go missing on the way to hospital. Also I can't imagine that they'd put a lot of effort into reattaching an arm for a known psychokiller.

I don't think Raylan would go that far, and also, since when does your current legal status affect your medical treatment? Not defending Quarles or anything (hell, I'd rather he just died), but I'd assume that they'd treat their patients indiscriminately, and since you have 6-12 hours to reattach an arm, I'd assume that, if we're being realistic here, Quarles got his arm back.

Can't wait! This season looks so freakin' awesome!!! Olyphant was great on Deadwood but he's the man on Justified!!! Third season was good but still not as good as the 2nd, this season looks very promising!!!

Just saw that posted to Facebook. Cannot wait, so glad this show is finally getting the love it deserves. Of course nothing beats last seasons Han Solo/Greedo pre-season Justified commercial.

Just finished watching the first season on Blu-Ray (cheaply acquired on Black Friday) and I'm wondering what the fuss is about. Don't get me wrong -its a good show, and Raylin is a great character, but I don't get the raves about it being the best show on TV. Does it step up in season 2? Is there something that I'm missing?

It's cause you haven't watched season 2 yet. Season 2 was easily the best season, Margo Martindale's Emmy winning performance as Mags Bennett is hands down one of the best characters of the series and her kin are also all great characters as well Dickie, Coover and Doyle. Third season IMO not as great but this next season looks very promising.

When I think of shows that deserve the "best show on TV" handle, usually its been Homicide, The Wire, Breaking Bad. Nothing I saw in this series first season put it anywhere in the ballpark of those shows (well, at least not their better seasons). If S2 picks it up (as often happens with TV shows, especially ones with a short run), I may give that a shot too.
