I went with the pedestal, since the early looks at the wall mount frame looked kind of crappy.

That, and there was the on again off again news of the shield not being removable from the frame.
Now after seeing the finished product, I kind of like the lighted wall mount since the shield can be taken off, lol.

I too think this will be my display piece. :)

Yea the wall mount is much better than I imagined. Either way I am happy that I got a PO in with BBTS last year. I too went with the pedestal version.

I cant wait for it to finally ship!

That was a big reason I cancelled mine and went to the pedestal. I really, really like the release mechanism. Sucks that so much was lost in the translation when the solicitation came out.

The red colour of the shield in the video looked a little too solid in shade. It should have looked a little more translucent metallic. But hoping that it will look better in hand.

The shield looks extremely good. I do agree though that the paint is too opaque and too dark; ironically the eFX comes off looking more like spun aluminum as a result. There was also a few times in the close-ups that there were some rough spots in the red paint but that could just be trying to dissect it via YouTube. Can't wait to see higher quality in hand pictures.

You guys have sold me on the concept of an "idealized vs. screen accurate" shield. The star has never looked like that onscreen, and certainly not in TWS, but it is ascetically very pleasing. Once again this is a great looking, and sounding for you 'metal heads', shield.

I wonder if we can contact BBTS and request a change to the wall mount if we already have the pedestal ordered?

I agree, that red paint was so thick and made that part of the shield look so solid. The blue actually looks a lot brighter than it did in those earlier photos. I still can't decide between eFX or KA though haha. Is the KA metal or wood like Sean said? When he was knocking on it, maybe it was my audio, but it sounded kind of solid too, not much "metal" vibration...

I have my doubts my man; they don't even have them on their site right now which suggests that not even BBTS knows what numbers they will be working with. The one thing working in our favour though is that these are not limited as far as I have seen.

I would doubt the shield is wood at all; I imagine the only wood in that piece's construction would be part of the wall mount.

I checked with BBTS, they cannot change preorders from one version to another, and now are having trouble
even contacting King Arts to find out the status of the shields that they ordered.

"Thank you for your patience! We have been unable to ascertain the shipment date of the shields despite several attempts by our Purchasing Department to contact King Arts. This is likely due to a production delay and the company not having a firm ship date. I apologize but likely we will not know much more until the shields are in transit to our warehouse. So at the end of March, if the shields still have not arrived, we will change the ETA to 2nd quarter. If you have any questions regarding this listing or anything else, please do let me know and I will be happy to help."

Not sounding good, by any means. :(

I asked the same thing and they haven't heard back from when they will be shipped to them.

I'm wondering who the dude in the YouTube video ordered them from.

Yeah, that reply came over last night, as I had emailed them over the weekend.

Not sure where he is at, but maybe he ordered from Midtown Comics?
Though they were getting theirs last week.

He got the price wrong in the video, and even said it was made of wood, which scared me... I'm not really sure what was up with that...

The guy doesn't know what he's talking about. The description is poorly written due to the translation from King arts on their product but the shield sounds completely metal, which is my main reason for buying.

Now I have to wait to ensure BBTS will still get theirs :/

Video looks good. Glad it is removable from the frame... the news regarding BBTS doesn't sound promising, but I'm sure it will all work out.

If not then there is always the AoU Capt shield that someone might make...that we'd have to wait another 2 years for ha!

I just want to get mine signed by Stan Lee before *knocks on wood*. Last time I met him, I had nothing of value for him to sign except for a Spiderman DVD (yeah, pathetic... this was back in early 2000s) so I definitely want something more grandiose to display. :yess:

Wow. I like it a lot. I'm not crazy about it, BUT it looks REALLY good. I'm even more curious now about the battle damaged versions and how those turned out.

Damn, I really wish I pre-ordered the Wall Mount version as well, seeing now that you can remove the shield easily, would've preferred that over the pedestal due to the LEDs. Oh well :slap

I hope more reviews go up. Still undecided. :gah:

I like both. I don't think you can go wrong with either.
