A MGS thread with a bunch of complaining and bashing? Sounds about right for SSF.
You sound very much like a casual gamer. The problem lies when casual fans show up and tell the more hardcore fans that they're being too serious or that they need to "lighten up", and the hardcore fans try to explain their position in vain to those who could care less. It's the equivalent of mixing oil and water. These discussions never get anywhere.

I'm not a casual gamer, I'm very invested in my franchises and games. Perhaps I am just more casual than you guys. lol. I can see that.
Really, you don't like MGS2 Krec? I love MGS2, thought it was a ton of fun.
Thanks hairlesswookie, at least there's one other MGS player besides me who likes LOS, lol.
I thought that the storyline for MGS 2 was quite eloquent. I hated how Raiden replaced Snake, though.
I enjoyed playing as Raiden, I really like the character. I guess that's part of why I love MGS2. You get a two great stories in one imo.
Well obviously it's all black and white. Good to know. You can't just like something these days. There is always someone who knows better, or is more real, or this term, or that term. No offense to any of you, but I just don't think we have the same POV on this at all, and you can't just dumb it down to casual and hardcore. That is not the issue, at least for me. You guys view MGS one way and I view it another. I'm sure we have similar opinions on some things, and obviously differ on many others. I've been playing MGS since the first game, I didn't just jump on a bandwagon and decide I was Solid Snake loving hipster. We are at an impasse gentlemen, simple as that.

Anyway, it's fine if you're looking forward to a MGS 1 remake. Many others are, too
Great analogy. You broke it down perfectly. Most people nowadays who are into MGS only recently got into it or they never were truly into it to begin with, and those who have been with the series 10+ years who take it very seriously and look at the series under a microscope. Nothing is wrong with either, but most people write off the people that take the series seriously because they disagree with the current standard of Kojima's creative direction.
There are Solid Snake hipsters? You're confusing those people who are tired of the stale Big Boss story.
MGS 1 - Solid Snake
MGS 2 - Solid Snake + Raiden
MGS 3 - Naked Snake
MGS 4 - Solid Snake
MGS 5 - Naked Snake
That's 2 and a half for Solid and 2 for Big Boss.
Solid still has the most games
You're still not getting the point. 4 straight games of Big Boss.
