Fantastic looking statue...:horror I WANT ONE!!

Would anybody know roughly how much $$'s shipping one of these to the UK would be from the US?

Cheers

WW :Wizard

LCTOYS are selling them on EBAY

£310 including UK postage. Pretty expensive but probably the same as you'd spend getting it from the US once shipping and Customs fees have been added on.

Still not convinced ? :D

Well I finally got this sucker on Sunday. I'll say one thing, it is BIG. :horror However, I wasn't wowed when i took it out of the box. Other than the shear size, I'm not overly impressed. Now that may be because I'm not Kong fan (I don't hate it, just not a huge fan). The detail and sculpt is very nice but where Kong and Rex join at the belly looks kind of funny. Like they're Siamese twins joined at the belly. That being said, I'm not anywhere close to saying the piece sucks or is bad. It's definitely impressive, just not for me. Although not really comparing apples to apples, this contrasts the feeling I got when I opened the PF Green Goblin last week. I opened that sucker and I was definitely wowed. I would rate that piece over Kong by a good mile in wow factor.

I'm telling if you look at Kong and Rex, looks like they are ballroom dancing. :naughty

Either way I don't own this piece, but would want it, though price is high for me.

I got Kong today, indeed a massive piece, two problems that keep bothering me, one is Ann's leg is chipped, and the black ink on the base for Kong wording, it's scrapped off the K in the middle.

What should I do, ask for a exchange?

#221

Thanks.

Here are the pictures, can this be fixed? I am thinking of asking the seller who owns a store for a exchange, but my fear is that the exchange will be worse. Or should I ask them for a discount on the price, if so how much?

Thanks.

The "K" problem, is not a problem at all, I would never consider that a reason to exchange.

I can't really tell from the second picture, but is there something wrong with Anne's knee? Otherwise, just get a bit of black paint and do it yourself.

Yes, it's the knee, that is the problem, its chipped , I can't seem to get a picture without flash right for it.

I would still probably opt for fixing it myself (personally things like that don't bother me much), I guess it depends on where you got it. It seems it was a local purchase? If so, I can't imagine why you wouldn't just go back.

It was a purchase from a seller who offers the following policy:

Damaged Product: If your item arrives damaged, and we require you to ship it back, we will refund the cost of shipping. Carefully examine your order for any damage. Claims will not be accepted after the 30 day time period.

I would fix it myself, but dont know what color to use to paint her leg, or where to get it from. If the seller can offer a partial refund, I would think that would be better.

Just ask, normally that is not a problem. Or just go find some acryllic paints, that is actually not a hard color to make.

I see what you mean... it's not too major though.. you can probably fix it yourself and no one would be the wiser. Just put some sculpting putty or sealant on it and paint over it. Do your best to match the paint and you could make it look fine....

My wife would kill me if I would get this statue. Nowhere to put and I need to draw the line somewhere. I am not too impressed with it enough anyway.

The retailer does not have any left, but is willing to offer a discount. What would a reasonable discount be, $75 or $50 for the damage? Thanks. FYI - there is also another paint type stain on the base too.
