The sculpt looks like a bloated sack.
Been staying away from this thread since I have nothing to add, but I checked in to see some pics and saw the above exclusive.
All I can say is that this piece totally confuses me.

Remember the Cemetary, its the mask from the guy who led the expedition to find Akator but got lost. They take that mask off and the guy's face disenegrates.
It's an odd choice, but as was said, they couldn't do the skull and it matches the base he's standing on at least. (same scene in the film)
They really should have embraced the rediculous-...ness of it and had it so he was climbing into a fridge. Prairie dog exclusive. Its just crazy enough to work.
The fridge is the base, he plugs into the inside and fits completely in so you can open and close the door. That would have been awesome, and I hate that scene so much I made my own cut of the film and removed it. I still would have bought that.

The thing that confuses me is that both SS and LFL knew that people would want the crystal skull with this PF. They should have worked out a deal to include it with the statue too or never have made the skull for the DVD in the first place.
I guess their PF's are not going to include the primary object of desire -- as the ark would be too big -- so in keeping with the Raiders idol I guess they are going for the secondary "objects".
So TLC Indy will come with the grail tablet and not the cup, and ToD Indy will come with Nurhachi and not the stones. But that doesn't work, does it? Not if you want ToD Indy with ripped shirt.
So what little object could he come with that fits with the ripped shirt?

Well I'm set. I just won the crystal skull AND the Iron Man busts that came with the DVD's for 3 dollars and some change for both of em on Ebay lol

What i wana know is when are they going to release an updated Han Solo PF (preferably ROTJ Endor trenchcoat) with a better head sculpt!
They have done 2 indys now in a very close timeframe.

Why is the base so much smaller the ROTLA INDY PF. The 1st indy base was pretty big with markens on, now this base is small with black trimming. So wont this mean that the 2 indies stading together this one will be much shorter thus displaying them together will be unbalanced????
This seems stupid to me,
, why would sideshow created a line of indy pf and dont make them compatible to display together.
And one last thing, why does'nt sideshow put the movie logo on the bases so we can see which indy is which. Bec alot of the guys are saying this is just another indy pf (same clothes etc) just a older head sculpt. Plus it would complete the dispaly if sideshow could display the Relative movie logo on the base, this would greatly complete the statue for me?

IrishJedi also posted that KOTCS Indy is wearing the EXACT same outfit of the Raiders PF, which he clearly isn't.
I wasn't referring to the color of the materials, which they at least changed some. There are some more distinct differences between the two outfits that apparently would have required more of the dreaded R&D.

Yea they used the exact same plans or w/e u wanna call it from the Raiders PF for the clothing.
They changed the pants color material, wow. Talk about hard work.
I have an Indy hat made by Steve Delk who made the CS hats Harrison actually wore. Its from a differant felt batch so the color is ever, ever so slightly darker. The hat is the same, he didn't make an all new press, its still the CS one, the only thing differant is the felt batch. Same thing here, they didnt do anything new, the material for the pants is simply a differant batch with a differant chemical dye.
And yea he'll be about 2 inches shorter then the Raiders PF from the base and the fact hes hunched over a bit.
Its nice that his hat, jacket, and pants will be different colors/shades than the Raiders version but I definitely agree that the short jacket on this piece stands out even more than the first one.
Agreed, that was my first impression when I saw the piece. The face is too fat for old Indy.
