Re: Kotobukiya Fine Art line

I've seen some pretty nasty pics of the Koto Cap & Thor, what are your impressions Mark?

Did you mean paint apps? or are you talking about the "eyeliner" issue...because I get these at a local store, and yes the first one I looked at had some blemishs on Capt's face, so I was able to look at another one and get that one. There was nothing wrong with Thor that I found....

I guess my only grip is that Capt head looks a tad small and the wings on his cowl are not totally symmetrical..but for me that is minor. on a whole I am very happy with the sculpts, paint apps, pose, and scale - someone on the Marvel Statue forums posted a comparison of Koto Thor and Bowen Museum Thor and Bowens was much smaller....I mostly have 1:6 scale and Kotos Marvel line fits in pretty well.

As far as the eyeliner issue - since my statues are displayed about 3 feet from view, I don't really mind - even Capt has a black keyline under his eye...AND if one looks at some of the comics, the black keyline around the eye is how it is drawn....so I found that interesting.

Oh and on another tangent - I too would love the Brown version of Wolverine!

Thanks for answering my question :hi5:

I saw the Thor on YouTube (didn't find Cap) & it looked okay, not okay enough for me to want, but okay. Dude didn't seem to like the Cap that he saw.

Re: Kotobukiya Fine Art line

Got my X Force Deadpool today :yess:

This statue is niiiiiiiiice. Another good Kotobukiya purchase for me. I still think Magneto is the better statue, but X Force Deadpool is no slouch in the cool department. Nice paint app, & cool fighting pose. Although the promo pics didn't impress me enough to purchase this earlier, I think I made the right choice, by deciding to give this statue a chance. The mask, which I thought looked a bit "weird" before, has grown on me. As with a bunch of collectibles, it's better 'in hand'. I decided to take some pics, & share them here :D

Wow that backdrop is very impressive. It really makes the statue standout.

That is looking awesome! I had something different in my mind for my future Avengers display, but now I´m gonna do something similar like you.

looks like the Iron Man and Cap have switched months...Cap was originally listed for a July (IM in June) release, but as far as i know he's been available for a number of weeks now
there are quite a few listed on Evilbay right now (decent prices as well)

Re: Kotobukiya Fine Art line

I actually really like these statues. The only thing that bothers me are the completely different scales. Some are def bigger than 1/6 like cable who is huge and then you've got Psylocke for instance who's tiny. Sure with the base it's a good size but if you look at the size of her without the base she's just far too small :dunno

Re: Kotobukiya Fine Art line

I have my Kotobukitya 1/7th scale Classic Avenger Thor (amazing statue). I have my Mark VI HT Iron man. And my Kotobukiya Classic Avengers Captain America in the mail. Oh, it's going to be so nice to put these main Marvel characters of similar sizes on display next to each other. Oh! Excited!

Re: Kotobukiya Fine Art line

The Magneto is just awesome, heaps better than the Bowen version. However the Bowen X-Force Deadpool looks much better than the Koto, and the regular Deadpool as well. I have just purchased the Koto DR wolvie(will get it in a few weeks), which I think is the best Wolvie statue around. I love it how Koto provide switch out heads, if only Bowen did.

BTW if Koto keep up the standard as they did with the Mags, then Bowen should watch themselves.

Re: Kotobukiya Fine Art line

Nice work Surfer :hi5: I think I'd put the Koto Wolverine behind Deadpool & Archangel, as to which X Force Koto is the best.

Re: Kotobukiya Fine Art line

OMG! I'm so excited. I have the X-23 and Archangel, going to try to pick up Warpath and Deadpool soon. I've got to get the Wolverine, the full set is going to be awesome! Can't wait for them to do a Psylocke and Fantomex.

Re: Kotobukiya Fine Art line

helll yea!!!!! Wooo!!!!!! Lets do this you punk ass mutha----ers!!!!!!!!!!! The cole train runs on whole grain!!!!!!!!!!1

Re: Kotobukiya Fine Art line

I really want this so much, Koto is starting to kick Bowens arse. First a much better Mags and now a much better X-Force Wolvie. The switch out heads are pure GOLD!
