Re: Kotobukiya Fine Art line

how is the size of that Koto Doom compared to Bowen statues? Is he a little bigger or does he fit in just right?

-

I only have one Bowen piece, the Action Thor statue. He fits perfectly, knowing that Doom is inside the armor.

Re: Kotobukiya Fine Art line

I found some pics of X 23.

You're right about the sloppy paint app.

The paint is bleeding all over the place.

Yeah the Avengers statues are strange. Look at Koto's new X Force Archangel.

Nice pose,

with nice,

& clean paint app.

I purchased Koto's Deadpool statue today from Alter Ego Comics. I think I might get it next month. I wanted the red one, but it doesn't seem to be 'in stock' at the normail eTailers I visit, & the one I saw on Ebay today would cost me over $600 shipped :slap I've been interested in the Deadpool statues for a bit, but I think the head sculpts were holding me back. Maybe a bit too over wrinkled for my taste. But I'm curious to see it 'in hand', so I purchased the cheaper X Force version :D

Edit: For those of you with Ikea detolfs, is it safe to display these statues (& will they fit) in them? I haven't got a Detolf yet (the cheapest one I can find here is a little over $200US :slap), but I want one. I seem to always choose getting another figure/statue, over getting a detolf :lol

No way would i pay $600 for a Koto Deadpool. Check out Bowens new Deadpools coming out, hes releasing an Action Pose one and an X-Force Museum one, both look mighty fine and are the two I'll be getting :)

Anything under under 16 inches will fit on a detolf shelf.

I only found out about Bowens new Deadpool statues. I'm only interested in the red one, & maybe the faux bronze re release of Bowen's older Deadpool statue. Personally, I'm not feeling Bowen's X Force Deadpool. I think my problem with the Bowens X Force statue, is the same problem I initially had with the Koto's, which was the mask sculpt. That's me though :D

Why couldn't I have found out about Bowen's Deadpool earlier? Might not have gone through with my Koto purchase had I known. Oh well :D

Edit: Changed my mind. The Bowen is due out in October, so I'll have some time to appreciate the Koto :D

Appreciated. Thanks :hi5:

Hello all,
new here...posted a couple times...I usually share over at OSW...but since there is a thread for this thought I would contribute.

I recently started Koto Marvel and am very happy with them since they are the classic comic versions.

Here is a group pic of the recent release of Thor and Capt.

Can't wait for more X-men!

Re: Kotobukiya Fine Art line

I've seen some pretty nasty pics of the Koto Cap & Thor, what are your impressions Mark?

Re: Kotobukiya Fine Art line

I actually think the Hawkeye statue looks pretty cool. I like the colour scheme, the pose, basically the overall look. I imagine if he was one of my fav superheroes, this statue would be bought.

That's a boss Hawkeye! I really like that shade of blue too.

I don't think I've ever been to this thread before, but I should start popping in every once in a while.

I'm glad you guys like Hawkeye. Erick Sosa sculpted this Hawkeye digitally, and I painted that prototype in the pics. I also did the earlier Spider-man. I'm currently painting an X-Force Wolverine, and will be doing Venom, Dare Devil and more in the coming months. Erick is the only American sculptor Koto uses, and he does all of these, and I am his official painter now. These are fun to do. A nice departure from 1/6 action figure parts.

Cool; keep the colors classic! Hawkeye looks boss. Your flesh tones look real good too.

I like the Cap, Thor and Ironman but I really don't like that Hulk.

The proto paint app is sweet. You got skills :hi5:

The production line paint app on the other hand, varies a bit with each release :slap

Re: Kotobukiya Fine Art line

I think part of the problem is that different artists have worked on the protos, making them inconsistant in style, and then you have the usually factory issues.
