I've been looking at the promo pictures and then looking at these and I'm only seeing the shade of blue being different. Is there something else I'm missing?

Looks about the same but with different lighting. Most likely the visor lights up and it wasn't turned on.

The shape of the visor has changed completely and the hair has far less details
Not to mention the subpar paintjob

Aside from the shape of the visor and the lack of color, the space by the nose bridge has changed as well. Hate that lighter blue shade.

and yeah, i, for one, also, had this as one of my most anticipated piece to get primarily because i just love Lee's run on X-Men back in the 90's. truly disappointing.

Yeah. The Koto Mags is truly a special piece. What a fantastic statue.
