Re: WIP - 1/6 Scale Miami Serial Killer Slide Box by Corrose
Small update, I got the first sample in, and the detail is pretty great, the slots for the blood slides are very detailed.
My only disappointment is the hinges are too small for the printer to be able to pick up that channel where I need to run the pin through to have it hinged. Other than that I'm very impressed.
I looked at RM's slide box again and his hinges are too large to be accurate but I know why they are larger, they need to be to have this be able to open and close.
Right now my lid sits perfectly onto the bottom, and the top can lift off but not hinge-open.
I want to hold off showing photos until I have something more final.
Would like feedback from you guys who are seriously interested before I make my next move, its you guys who need to be happy with the final product.
I can make the hinges and front clasp larger and that may work, but it will be less accurate.
Obviously if I need to do some model tweaks and have new prints made it will take some time.
Please post your thoughts on this, would love the feedback.
EDIT:
I think I just solved my own issue, found some sourced miniature hinges, going to order and have a new model output without the hinges molded into the plastic.
