$1599?? WOW that is not shocking or surprising. It is just heart crushing as it is pretty dear.... If it is really limited like below 150 pieces then might give it a thought of ordering. Because I missed out of Ex Optimus Prime thinking it was too expensive at $1199. But now finding it really cool but if I want to buy it is selling on ebay for $3999?????? I mean it is even dearer. So it would have been better if I had invested $1199 on the Ex that time.

I would argue that piece is also overpriced, especially with all of the problems it had.

maybe so, but ppl still payed for it. Why would they change it now?, it's still hundreds cheaper than that piece.

It's 3 feet tall, but it's skinnier than a toothpick... And would the lights really add that much more to the price?

Apparently, you have to consider that this piece actually has more than 3 simple colors to it. IM is just red, gold, and black. This actually needs to have more depth.

The War Machine is 20 inches in height and costs $549.99. If you x2 it's the same height and would cost $1100. So there is a massive jump in price.

But you can't compare it to other 2ft tall pieces. The price is consistant with other 3ft tall pieces.

Thought the movie was great was not interested in owning anything from it but was interested in seeing what would be done. It's a great looking statue

It's a 1/4 scale piece not a 1/2 scale piece so I think the comparison is fine. War Machine is also 1/4 scale and you could buy three of those for the price of one of these. It's simply not worth three WMs IMO. Other people will feel it is worth the money and fair play to them. For me this is hugely disappointing. It's $600 more than the original SWS Predator Maquette. Puts into perspective.

They priced themselves well out of business on this piece, i foresee ths will be in-stock a long time, i was on board for $1000, but no freaking way for $1600, and i was gonna get this too.

But I don't think scale has anything to do with how they price things. It comes down to size, detail, and complexity of the piece. The Prime maquette is another example of this. Scale doesn't mean much for that piece either, it's so detailed and complex, and SS believes it's worth the extra cash, as do all the ppl that ordered one.

It's the same argument as to why there's a huge difference between say the Alien/s maquettes and another large pf like the Morgul lord. $500 difference, but they're the same scale.

I'm still planning on getting this, however I will be ordering off the dolar menu for the rest of the year, not purchasing any exclusives at SDCC, and giving up all Christmas gifts (I will only ask for cash so I can pay off my CC). That should about cover the price.

Now, they better not come out with any more Avatar statues for a while, or I may Have to sell myself on street corners.

Disappointed. If it was around $900.00 I would get it but not at that horrendous price. This is worth more than what I paid for the Iron-Man and War-Machine maquettes combined and then some.
