Watching Monsters for the first time today. Hopefully get a better idea of the directors style and capabilities.
It's an OK film but Godzilla needs to have alot more monster action in it than Monsters did.

I kinda wish they'd just come out and say, "our Godzilla is 409 feet tall". Dying to know how big the sum******er is!
In a January 2014 interview in Total Film magazine, it was revealed that Godzilla will be 350 feet (110 m) tall. According to special effect chief Jim Rygiel, the mechanics of Godzilla's fighting style is based on the study of animals, primarily bears and Komodo dragons.

Sounds like a win to me.
No victory jump for joy = FAIL
As someone who's never seen the 1998 Godzilla film, looking at that graph makes me want to see it even less. That design is so aesthetically unpleasant in every sense of the word.
It's not a real monster film for sure, but it has a great visual style, the environments are very well crafted a it's and engaging human story. I feel like anyone can throw giant monsters around in a movie but you have to have a gift to pull off those other elements so I feel Legendary made the right choice.

Rumor has it — repeat — rumor has it that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be issuing four double-feature discs of their Heisei and Millennium Godzilla titles on May 6th to capitalize on the frenzy created by the release of the upcoming Gareth Edwards re-imagining of the original creature feature opening on May 16th. Each double-feature package will contain two discs, Blu-ray and UltraViolet Digital Copies, and will retail for $19.95. According to as of yet unverified sources, these are the titles dropping:
GODZILLA VS. KING GHIDORAH (1991) & GODZILLA VS. MOTHRA (1992), GODZILLA VS. MECHAGODZILLA II (1993) & GODZILLA VS. SPACE GODZILLA (1994), GODZILLA VS. DESTOROYAH (1995) & GODZILLA VS. MEGAGUIRUS (2000), GODZILLA FINAL WARS (2004) & GODZILLA: TOKYO SOS (2003).
Conspicuously missing are GODZILLA 2000 (1999), GIANT MONSTERS ALL-OUT ATTACK (2001), and GODZILLA AGAINST MECHAGODZILLA (2002). It's unknown at this time if these will follow, or if there is any validity to this rumor — I'm checking on sources, but it's the middle of the night...
