Anybody who preordered the NECA Godzilla 1985 figure, seems like it has gotten pulled from the first series and postponed. Hm, that's interesting I wonder what happened.

Yeah that sucks but hopefully it'll be better for it.

Really terrific to read these reviews from IGN, Totalfilm and Bleeding Cool and all of them lead back to the same two things--the film is character driven with strong acting and Godzilla looks absolutely badass! This is more than I could have hoped for. Come May 16, let's pray they stick the landing.

Elsewhere, I've seen concern over this, but to me, it can only be a good thing. They showed off the '94, got some feedback, perhaps are refining things. I feel like a delay on '84 could only be a good thing for the overall quality of the figure, and being my favorite design, I say bring it.

Movie looks VERY promising.

The recent trailer also reassured me that they're taking Godzilla seriously. I think movies like CLOVERFIELD and recently PACIFIC RIM set a new precedence for these "Big Monster attacks city" movies. What I particularly like is how they're obviously drawing the character's emotions into it all, especially with the recent trailer you hear Cranston's character getting angry, being frustrated, sad, etc. Obviously Godzilla is the main star, but you also want to root for the human cast as well and they need to tug at the emotional element. So far, looks like they may have it. I also like how they're drawing on "not fully showing Godzilla". That's the best way to go, keep the beast in the dark and don't show him all until you have to. CLOVERFIELD did that really well. It also gives the sense that though Godzilla is 300+ ft. tall, he's very capable of being elusive, destructive and popping up when you least expect him.

Also looks like (and I hope) from the underground exploration scenes (where we see a clutch of "eggs" and a giant skeleton) that they could be building towards MORE super monsters. Which would be pretty interesting if Legendary pictures wants to create a bit of its own Godzilla franchise.

I hope it's more Cloverfield then Pacific Rim, in terms of tone and feel (looks like it will be)... but I hope they Show Godzilla better then they did the Cloverfield monster.... It's Godzilla!!! We need some Godzilla money shots!!!!

From what I read he gets shown alot and cloverfield was cam footage this is shot with a bigger feel. As for pacific rim, I may or may not be in the minority but I didnt care for that movie at all. The characters were so damn cliche to me and the final monster fight bored me to tears. The only highlight of that movie was Gypsy danger vs otachi. Godzilla will not be like pacific rim that's for sure, this movie has a haunting and more character driven twist to it, then you have this dont mess with a force of nature from the first movie. The fact that they arent showing much is also a plus to. Plus lets be real, its freaking godzilla and everybody loves the big G.

I hope after the success of their Pac Rim and Godzilla figures, NECA puts out a Cloverfield Monster of their own someday. I bid on the only one that WAS reasonably priced on eBay but it's almost up to 2hundey now, d@mn it! :D

If this is anything like "Monsters", but with actual monster show for at least 30% of the screen time... I'd love it.

Can't argue with you about Pacific Rim.... However I did enjoy it better when I gave it a second chance.... Still has an awful final battle... Very boring.

Textless Empire cover, just beautiful.
