It's kind of disturbing to see this similarity with Zilla from the 1998 movie .

That ad gave me serious Gino flashbacks. Need to rinse the taste out of my mouth with some Ghidorah the Three-Headed Monster.

I will say this... That commercial was better and more exciting then the 1998 Godzilla film

LMAO I personally don't, as there's some anime that to me are some of the highest points of story telling in a visual medium, Evangelion for one, and even though I don't like gundam much, I find gundam the 8th ms team to be a brilliant mini series. But I'm still perplexed at how Anime started to dominate a godzilla forum lol

Unfortunately the commercial reminds us of the GINO film.... Otherwise it's cute. Personally I don't mind it at all.

Yeah, not seeing the big deal. It's not like that commercial was meant to be taken seriously or anything. There have been comedic Godzilla commercials in the past.

I don't see it as them copying 98 Godzilla, but as 2014 Godzilla eating cars like their M&M's.

By the way, I haven't been keeping track of Godzilla news for years, but I just read on Wiki that Toho studios had retconed the monster from Godzilla 1998. Instead of being called Godzilla it's now simply "Zilla". Godzilla also killed a version of Zilla in Final Wars.

As much as I hate Godzilla 98. I hate Godzilla Final Wars more. Perhaps its because G98 is so far removed from looking like Godzilla or acting like Godzilla, it is easy to view as a non Godzilla film. G:FW is a Godzilla film and it is an awful one. Watching that clip reminded me of how much I hate it.

As much as I hate Godzilla 98. I hate Godzilla Final Wars more. Perhaps its because G98 is so far removed from looking like Godzilla or acting like Godzilla, it is easy to view as a on Godzilla film. G:FW is a Godzilla film and it is an awful one. Watching that clip reminded me of how much I hate it.

I love the idea of Goji ripping Gino a new one, but that scene was always nauseating. Pretty much every aspect of it is rancid. The soundtrack, the alien's performance, the crappy CG, the Jurassic Park III spinosaurus sound effects, etc.

Only thing I like about Final Wars is the Goji suit.

Interesting. That looks dead-on.

His build and body type definitely seem to come mostly from a bear, and his natural reptilian aspects (positioning and shape of scales/spikes, etc) I think are obviously from alligator/crocodile.
