I will say it does take balls to watch the big set pieces over the internet on a tablet or smart phone the day before release date and after waiting for over a year with all that built up anticipation. :lol

Not me, I'm blowing my load in a movie theater. :lol

Same here. Tomorrow at midnight, all of the hype that's been built up within me for two years will be released over the course of two hours.

I hope Gareth Edwards believes in extended cuts because imagine the dvd release having an additional 10-15 minutes of Godzilla.

Then again I haven't seen the movie yet, it might not even be needed.

unfortunately it will need it :) and delete 10-15 minutes of useless scenes!

Just saw the film...

Was really surprised by the actual plot. Didn't have a clue that Godzilla would be the 'hero', and essentially save everyone. Avoiding pretty much everything related to this really paid off for me lol.

Although, I have a feeling some people in the cinema knew even less about the film and mistook the first appearance of the male MUTO for Godzilla /facepalm

I've followed this thread for five months now, frothing at every little detail (aside from the more recent spoilers). My hype for this film has grown exponentially, reaching dangerous levels this past week. Considering that, this film did not disappoint.

Tonight I saw it in 3D, but I'm going to wait until I see it again in 2D before reaching a verdict.

Initial impressions:

The human story was fine. Very fine, in fact. The build-up was brilliant, despite a slightly jarring shift in tone. Watanabe had some great moments with awesome dialogue, but his delivery was disappointing. The soundtrack was great in the context of the action, and the CGI was surprisingly good.

The 'moment' between Ford and Godzilla wasn't even close to what I expected. It was incredibly brief and didn't inspire eye-rolling. I enjoyed it. Also, the ****in atomic breath.

The calvalry has arrived. Much needed boost. :lol

How much screen time does Cranston get in this?

does he die as a result of Godzilla?

Don't know the first part, but for the second....

He dies as a result of the chaos when the first muto hatches and escapes from the former Janjira plant when he and ATJ are investigating.

And sorry to keep photo bombing this thread with these, but these are SUPER HD versions and the second image is just one of the most awesome Godzilla images ever.

Thanks, one more question, does the movie set up a sequel? Like does it allude to the Tunguska Blast being another Kaiju waiting to start **** or anything like that?
