So....minor spoilers here!

I have a few complaints about the movie but I dont think I can do spoiler tags from my phone. But I agree with the complaints about Cranston's character, and I hated how they would skip over some battle scenes. Didnt early teasers or showings of this movie at comic cons show a whole ruthless battle at an airport where Godzilla manhandled Mutos? They just changed that completely cause they kept cutting away from yhe monsters when they were about to hammer each other. And I dont like how the trailers made it seem that Godzilla was causing all the destruction but in actuality all the memorable shots came from Mutos.

There was more to the airport scene at Comic Con, or a different take, the Art of Destruction has a shot of the muto from it and a tagline stating it's from cut footage from the SDCC clip. The only other showing has been the footage that was at Wondercon which cuts at Godzilla's roar.

The leaked script poster did mention more of a fight I think but I don't think anyone's ever seen footage.

Also, the free Smash3 Mobile game is out today, I've only played a little bit but it's really fun for a free game, much cooler than Strike Zone.

Yeah I just remember all these comments thrashing this smaller Muto like it was a curbstomp from those warly reviews coming out of comic con.

But the monster scenes were well worth the wait. GE did a fine job of treating Godzilla like an animal in how he fought and behaved but truly made him a character with how his mannerisms and how he was reacting to people or the Mutos.

Some people were saying that because the final fight was not as good as they wanted it to be they deleted the airport fight because it was going to hurt their "Big Reveal"

If that was the case, then that's a load of coop....

Just rumor mill, just like the leaked script, which, while ultimately was spot on to some things, wasn't dead on either.

If you watch Monsters and catch any interviews with Edwards about it, he cares about the humans, he likes showing monster action on TV screens and such because it keeps you in the human world of experiencing things. I don't think footage was cut to make a scene better, I think it was just planned all along to build craving for the payoff and to keep to Edwards' style.

I was confused about one thing though.

Did the nuke go off at the end? With the bright light while ATJ is on the chopper I assumed that's what it was?
But then all those people in Candlestick Park wouldn't they all have been potentially poisoned?

They do detonate a nuke and Edwards was asked about it in a Q&A and sort of shyed away from a real answer joking about winds and such. I think they took the Dark Knight Rises movie magic approach of hoping you'd overlook that there'd still be consequences of a detonation.

By the way, saw a 1 minute clip of Godzilla at the bridge, like when they're shooting at him and he crashes through. How can people get caught up in how much time he spends on screen, that one clip alone was amazing, I'm already pumped about what Edwards is giving and it's like 10% of the big picture.

Honestly, the the way they sprinkle Godzilla throughout is so good. Yes you WANT to see him more, but it's a good want. It's a fine dining experience where they pace out the appetizers and main course so you don't get full and waste the experience of the delicious final meal. It's a very very good build. The initial reveal of Godzilla left me so happy and grinning that it literally tided me over throughout the rest of the film :lol

Oh okay. That must be the case.

Because every time one of the monsters fell it was basically on top of the Olsen sister no matter how much they moved around it seemed. So i found it odd that they nuked everybody without mentioning the fallout. I couldn't tell if Godzilla just looked beat up and fatigued or if he was singed from the bomb.

He did seem to fall on her a lot didn't he :rotfl

For those of you that watched it, how did you guys feel about the lack of fight scenes? Seems to be the main complaint right now with some of the fights being cut short.

The main fight scene was so good, that I personally don't find the lack of them as a negative.

I do think, once I own the Bluray, there will be times where I pop it in and just skip ahead to watch the last 30 minutes of the film…But I've done that with almost every Godzilla movie, so that's nothing new :lol

It annoyed me in the beginning. Thankfully the climax was truly epic. But my audience was getting restless that they kept cutting away. So I don't think it was a great move. The finale was great, the audience cheered, but walking away from the movie all the cool Godzilla money shots and moments all happen in like a span of twenty minutes. So, yes I still want more and I know a bit more Godzilla during his initial appearance would have helped keep the interest levels up.
