Well, I did a little Google search to see if anybody else might have posted anything about seeing Anguirus in the movie. I did find an obscure Youtube video from last year intimating that Anguirus might make an appearance. Maybe they did sneak him in.

I saw the movie today with my brother and as HUGE Godzilla fans. We loved it! FINALLY AMERICA HAS DONE JUSTICE. We're impressed. We do wish that there was more monster fighting but we understand the direction they went with. Overall awesome movie and the King of the Monsters got his America debut the right way. I'm hoping a sequel will come eventually.

With the sequel happening, I imagine there will be more scenes of Godzilla himself since this movie established his introduction. Wonder who the baddies will be. Didn't they say that if this movie did well, Toho would allow Gareth and the team to use Toho's monsters?

Even tho I didn't like this film I would like to see a sequel with more Godzilla and under decent lighting so we can see whats happening with a nice fluent fight scene instead of random cuts in and out of a fight or just a glimpse on a news show on a small tv in a scene. What we saw of Godzilla in good lighting was perfect but that was 2 mins at best. The more I look back on the film the less impressed I am :(

Would like to see Manda if they do a sequel, the King Ghidorah for the trilogy.

Saw it today.
Wish I hadn't.
As close to a train wreck of a film as I've ever seen in a long time.

It was big this weekend but it'll plunge from here on at box office(NOT that that's a point which proves or disproves it's a good film)
Every friend I have who's seen it was disappointed. Comments I heard from people leaving my screening weren't positive.

Acting, including Cranston at times, was laughable. Story...well , don't get me started...

Mostly positive from where ive been sitting and at mt screenings. This film will if course drop off with x-men coming out but it will sustain. Word of mouth has been mostly positive.

Ive alway been a Gamera fan, and wasn't really too high up on even remotely caring to see this new Godzilla. Especially with it being an American production. I was pretty convinced that it was gonna be lame from the start (remember the 1998 one?).
So long story short, I went last night and I gotta say, I was absolutely blown away! Totally not what I was even expecting! I mean, at all! It was fuggin sick! I can't say that this is gonna make me a past tense Godzilla fan, but I do like the new one. Hopefully the new Gamera will be equally as good, if not better.
Oh, also one more thing. I find it extremely funny how this movie just negates Pacific Rim, completely. I hated PR from the start, but jeez this movie makes it look like one of those b rated red box flics.

Polarising film to say the least.

Yeah, like a lot of these films. I think that's becoming the order of the day honestly. The sequel is going to have a lot of work to do to convince people that this franchise is a "winner" where as the first film should have hands down done that. Instead, you've got mixed reactions as the order of the day and everybody pointing out that Godzilla becomes a co-star in his own film.

Ok, just returned from my 4th and final viewing.

It always takes me 3 or 4 to make a final decision on a movie.

I went in with the mindset that I never watched the trailers for it.

I am going to give it a final positive review.

I just feel that the good outweighs the bad, that simple.

The 2 cuts that hurt it the most are the airport and San Fran day.

That being said, his introduction at the airport, with first the foot, then the tail, then the pan up to his head with the music swelling is the BEST Godzilla reveal-arrival out of of ANY of his movies.

Period.

I'm ending this on a positive note.

Another question....would Destroyah be considered the Doomsday of Godzilla?
