Loving the Chinese poster.

It would have been cool if the MUTO's were classic Toho beasts as well. They felt pretty generic and unremarkable to me. It would have been cool if they were two Mothras or Rodans or something.

I loved them. I thought they were pretty damn neat. I think im mothra'd, ghidorah'd, and mg'd out for now. If they were to bring in any creature from Toho I'd want them to go with someone like Varan, Anguirus, Gorosaurus, or ****nosaurus. It fits the world. And then down the line if they want to go the route of a ghidorah or mothra than fine.

I really, really liked the Mutos. It didn't bother me that they didn't use a previously Toho created beast. Plenty of Godzilla movies introduce a new monster. More monsters…me likey :yess:

Good point. I guess it wasn't so much that they were "new," it was that they felt so derivative and generic to me. They were kind of a cross between the Starship Trooper bugs and the Cloverfield monster. I don't know, it just seemed very familiar. Most of the Pacific Rim beasties had instantly cool and unique looks to them IMO and I just think they could have done a better job with the MUTO's.

The mutos are meant to be a bit derivative, they wanted to pay homage to other Kaiju was also bringing something fresh. While there are similarities I also see differences, the female may look a lot like Cloverfield but she charges like a gorilla.

I feel like you're one of the biggest Godzilla fans on this forum. What did you think of the new movie?
