Legendary is awesome, I won a trailer release giveaway on their Twitter last night, it includes the new halo jump poster, a tshirt and hat. With the Encounter at SDCC and all the promotional stuff they're starting to do, I really feel a lot of respect for the fandom from Legendary.

NECA confirmed figures in multiple scales on Twitter to be shown at Toy Fair, they only do 7", 12" and 18" which means no matter what, major win for us :rock.

NECA, eh? Sounds VERY promising! I haven't been too impressed lately with some of their human figures but when it comes to creatures, they still have a great attention to detail! I wonder if Bandai and X-Plus will be producing figures too?

Bandai USA has the main figure license, but their stuff has usually been so-so, JAKKS is producing a 30" figure and NECA is doing figures of multiple sizes, 18" for sure. NECA's work on Pacific Rim has really impressed me, I'm sure Godzilla will look awesome. I can't wait for Toy Fair.

They better market this movie like 98 zilla. That marketing campaign was huge.

The Taco Bell ads were awesome though!!! :rock

Re: Legendary Pictures' GODZILLA - May 16, 2014

Are you going next year?

No, just watching online but all the Godzilla license holders should have lots on display, Bandai toys are even anticipated to hit stores around March.

As much as a huge campaign would be cool, I'm for quality over quantity, though I'd say the Encouter is a huge thing even if not as in your face as ads. I do think Legendary's marketing so far is better, it demonstrates understanding and respect for the fandom, looking back G98 did not but in the U.S. it was so big to have an America. Godzilla coming we went gags just seeing his name everywhere.

The Taco Bell ads were awesome though!!! :rock

I loved the Taco Bell ads, even had a few shirts with the slogans.

Regardless of how the movie turned out, no one can deny how much fun the anticipation and marketing was for fans, especially in America where we hardly get commercials or products. It also brought the Heisei films to the U.S. which was a huge deal.

Oh man, the marketing was SO much fun. I remember going to Taco Bell to get those plastic collector cups and such. There was also a 'pull the tab' game kind of thing on this side of the drinks and you needs a decoder to unveil the prize. So much fun. So much food! :lol

'Uh oh. I think I need a bigger box.'

This topic makes me want to get some beef Chalupas, Pink Lemonade, and a side of Nachos :drool

This trailer was shared by myself on Facebook. It has basically spread like wild fire. It might be my most shared link I've ever posted on Facebook before. They don't need no stinking marketing campaign! I'm gonna see this in IMAX if it's shown in 2D. If this is 3D, then I'll have to settle for a normal screen.
